I've heard people say that this is the worst #StarTrek book, and I can believe it. There are a few major problems with the story, but if you just accept those, then it's a decent enough adventure. Unfortunately, the characters are mishandled and the attitude toward women is mind-boggling. That's just too many problems to forgive.

I'm a few chapters into this one, and so far... not so good. The authors don't seem to have any grasp of the characters. #StarTrek lit isn't always great--I don't expect an uninterrupted series of masterpieces--but some minimal level of competence in the subject isn't so much to ask, surely.
