“She's as soft as a kitten, and as tough as a rhino. She's really, REALLY, REALLY nice, my mom.“
“She's as soft as a kitten, and as tough as a rhino. She's really, REALLY, REALLY nice, my mom.“
Although I really loved and related to this story, that wouldn't be the reality for most students. This would be a tough story for those students without moms or strained mother/child relationships. I think that this would be a good story to share in the home but not in the classroom.
This picturebook tells the story of a child describing their mom. I think that this is a really sweet story and it made me think of how amazing my mom and grandma are. However, I don't think this would be a classroom pick. Too many children are living in diverse family situations and I don't think that this should be a classroom pick because it's a tough situation for some kids. In the home I think this book is great, but in class I would pass.
A great book about a moms love and how the child looks up to them! Amazing how it is so relatable at all levels of life.
My Mom by Anthony Browne (picture book published in 2005) was so cute and one of my favorites. It was so cute and i related so much! I wouldn‘t read it to the class because of different family make ups but a great book for children to pick on their own
My Mom by Anthony Browne, 2005. Picture book. I really liked this book because this is how I feel about my mom! She is awesome. The illustrations seem simple. The author used light colors, they come across as sweet and dainty. The mom looks happy and nice throughout the book. The words are big enough and I like how some words were capitalized.
My Mom was written by Anthony Browne in 2005. This is one of my favorite books. It is such a cute story and is true in my opinion! I definetly loved this book and perfect for any grade level to read or to be read to!
“And as comfy as an armchair.” I like this quote because the child sees their mother in everything.
This is an outstanding picture book because the end papers are a floral print and the mom has this print on each of her outfits in every page. It‘s a small detail that really stands out.
Illustrations- Every illustrations showed a representation of the mother, symbolizing that she can be anything.
This would be a great book to have in any beginner classroom. It is an easy and fast paced read.
This book was a quick and fast paced read. The quality of the language would be suitable for new readers. The words are simple and easy for beginners. The illustrations are cute and simple and show the love for the mom.
This was good and meaningful but I feel like it should be an at home book not an at school book.
My Mom is a picture book by Anthony Brown. It was written in 2005. This book was very easy to read and the illustrations were fun to look at. There was a lot of color which made the book more appealing. I think the message is good and can remind children how important their mom is and that they should always tell her they love her. My only worry is that if a child doesn‘t have a mom anymore and they see this book it could make them sad.
My Mom written by Anthony Browne. This book is about a child who talks about their mom and all the amazing things she is and does. This book is appropriate for all ages. I enjoyed how in the book there was use of metaphors (either with verbiage or the illustrations) like when they said “She's the strongest woman in the world!“ and it showed her carrying in groceries.
This book is great for kindergarten. The words and pictures are great for younger kids to understand. Each picture shows the reason why each student should love their mom. This book is important to show kids why they should love their mom so young.
This book is a picture book. Each page shows a picture of what the girl was describing her mom as. This book was very cute. It‘s a young child going over how great her mom is. It‘s a good book for kids so they will realize how great their moms are. The pictures are also very cute for a children‘s book.
Happy Mother‘s Day to my mom! Love and miss you!
