Pigeons from Hell and Other Tales of Horror and Mystery (Fantasy and Horror Classics) | 
pickThe title story is a very effective "old dark house" horror story in the Southern Gothic style - very creepy. ?? The other stories are a mix of historical adventures, Cthulhu Mythos, Western horrors and atavistic throwbacks. Howard uses the motif of a modern man haunted by the memories of an ancient ancestor several times, however, the stories themselves are sufficiently different that the reuse of this plot device can be forgiven.
