A soft pick. Mostly I eye-rolled Holly obsessively comparing everything to her “saintly” dead husband, as it felt forced after a while. But I loved Zach, especially how he treated Rose. A solid Kleypas HEA but probably not one I‘ll revisit and definitely not close to one of my fave Kleypas (that honor goes to Devil in Winter & Devil‘s Daughter).

Still on my romance kick, and I really enjoyed this one. I loved the fact that the heroine wasn't a virgin, but a widow with a child! I think I'm going to take a little romance break for now, though, at least until I finish some books that I've stopped in the middle of; plus reading all these love stories while my relationship is heading toward some sort of end soon, is sometimes a great escape, other times puts me in a bad mood when I finish.

A rare-ish historical with a mother as a protagonist! Always happy to see those.
