It's a mediocre story, but the writing was very good. Also, the Audiobook is amazing! If you're going to read it I highly recommend the Audiobook over reading the book yourself.

Found this listed in one of my many searches for Young Adult novels in verse. It was written in poetic form, but actually a love story alternating between the characters as teenagers and ten years after. A quirky plot that centers on how views of love change as we mature. I feel very lucky to have been able to read most of this while in Paris. This is my second Beauvais book, and I want to read all of her work now. The format was different with this book - lyrical, but it didn‘t detract at all from the story. It was written from a unique perspective, and while part of me wants to be cynical and pragmatic about this love story, I was in Paris, so I let myself just give in and be swept away by it, and it was lovely.

I do miss a good train ride with a good book... On my way to Marseille, France.

Behind reviewing a few #ARCs and expected great things from this one due out early next year with reviews from Nicola Yoon & Nina Lacour. Even specifically says "for fans of Eleanor & Park" which I loved but I struggled through the first half and then gave up. Target audience is YA but they are mid to late 20s in the book. Translated from French and written in verse. Only thing I can surmise... maybe the translation didn't carry over well. Maybe?

I won an ARC! This was my first time reading a book that was written like this stylistically. Interesting & fun!
