Everything Ame Dykman is hysterical. She's the Jenny Lawson of children's literature. If you tweet, follow both on Twitter, it's never dull. But about the book: a misunderstanding nearly ruins everything. Apology and timing are everything.

Why or why is bear so horrible? Or maybe bear isn‘t horrible, and the little girl is horrible? Only the reader will know, and I‘m not going to spoil it. This book left a big smile on my face, and it will do the same for many other readers as well. I see this circulating well at most public libraries.

At the local elementary school this week with the 1st-3rd graders voting on their favorite of these 5 picture books. So far the tagged book is pulling ahead, but that may just be because we read it most recently. It‘s also got a great sense of kid humor and the opportunity for dramatic voices. Pro tip if you‘re going to read it to a group though: half the story is in the pictures, so make sure you pre-read it and can point out the important bits😁
