A charming book spiraling through a fantastical and familiar world of magic and murder. The characters are unique and captivating and are by far the most intriguing part of the novel.

This stack is full of books featuring epic battles from courageous animals trying to save their home, (mostly) rejecting the path that was chosen for you, being an amnesiac in the secret service with only a very detailed diary to shield you from discovery, oblivious idiots in love who may start a war or divert one, a girl with two sets of memories on a collision course with the Fairy Queen & well, a book with the highest body count I‘ve ever read!

I am very torn on this book. The bare bones of the fairy tale story was great and I loved the originality. However what really wasn‘t my favourite was the way the book was put together. It kept jumping through time, which I normally don‘t mind, but in a more confusing manner than normal. It seemed very disjointed and sometimes had me confused. I also felt it could have benefited from greater expansion and detail.
