I throughly enjoyed the book. Although I kinda liked the first part more than the second part. The second part dragged near the end of the book, though I do like the epilogue.

So… General Sorrengail is going to fall at Basgiath… at least that‘s what I‘m thinking.
I wish Brennan, Mira and Violet could telepathy talk to each other. They can still graduate even though they aren‘t in Basgiath?! I didn‘t think it was possible. Holy shit! Ridoc almost died?! Of course Violet holds him up to the promise they made earlier in the year.
Very action-packed with frantic pacing, a lot of war strategy stuff and LOOONG story (unnecessarily long one), but it was a decent sequel.
My office is exchanging Valentine cards today and this was from my supervisor. We were both reading Iron Flame at the same time. The poem made me smile and laugh - an essential for a long Friday work morning. It deserves to be shared 🌹💙 Please also note my Dewey‘s Dilemma book puzzle in the background 🤓
Started out strong, limped to 786 pages somewhat exhausted. I am not the intended audience - my younger self would have adored the page-turning storytelling and world building, but this older, slightly jaded reader didn‘t fall for it. Right now, I never want to read about a dragon again, and I‘m glad Violet‘s narrative voice can begone from my head. On the other hand my 17 yo is desperate to get his hands on it, and that is how it should be 🐉
How the hell is Jack -fucking- Barlowe alive? And he save Violet????
-
My thoughts are all a mess right now cuz I just finished the first part of the book. I can‘t wait till Mira finds out her brother is alive. Xaden said there were four teachers that joined them? Who are they?!
Why the hell did it take so long just to get good??? Also I want Fourth Wing and Mira to join the side Violet‘s on.
One of the best second books I have ever read. From begining to end I was captivated. I love how all the characters have an evolution in their character and not only the most important people. I love how Rebecca shows us the beautiful parts of a love story but also some hard and bad parts about a relationship.
This book made me fall in love with Violet and Xaden like my 15 year old self once fell in love with Katniss and Peeta once before.
Why is this ebook 1000 pages long? It‘s tells me it will take me a month and a half to read especially since I‘m judging it with how long it took me to read “It” by Stephen King.
I have to say I enjoyed this book more that the first book. It felt like the characters had grown a little bit more since the first book. I rated this book a 3 out of 5 stars.
WHAT THE ACTUAL F with that ending?!!!! I‘m exhausted from this roller coaster 🤬🤬🤬😭😭😭
Warning: be careful where you stop reading at night or your brain will wake you up repeatedly trying to puzzle out what will happen next! Note to self: KEEP READING you will be exhausted regardless and you might as well know what happens
Just like Fourth Wing, this was just as good the second time around!! Can‘t wait to find out what‘s in store for us in Onyx Storm!!
Just finished my reread and I‘m excited/scared to read the next one 🤣❤️ I feel like Rebecca is gonna mess me up in the next book since I don‘t know what‘s coming anymore 😭🥲
ft. Crumb mid yawn 🥰
I sent my sister a video and she made me this! It‘s so cool! #itsthelittlethings #wherewilliputit
Went to my local library today and got three books that I have been seeing everywhere. It had been a while since I went there because of my grandmother being sick and everything. I enjoyed it so much!! I am hoping to go more this year.
I had high hopes for this book, but unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations like Fourth Wing did. Nevertheless, I will continue reading Onyx Storm to see it through to the end. I hope it gets better.
Reread. I didn't like it as well as Fourth Wing. I'm not a reader who enjoys very detailed spice, but I am still invested in the characters and I love the action. Letter I #LitsyAtoZ @Texreader
“Power rises within me so quickly that my skin heats.“
Violet knows there are lies and deceit among leadership at Basgiath, but to what end? What will she do now? I'm eager to see where it all goes...
20-4 Jan 25 (audiobook)
Done with the re-read. Not sure whether it stood up to a re-read but I listened quickly and am ready for number 3.
Fully up to date and recapped for OS.
I am ready. Bring the Storm.
Just finished and I actually enjoy this more on the reread⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ love Xaden and the dragons so much! Can‘t wait for midnight and kindle to update 🐉🐉🐉
Just in time for Onyx Storm 😅 I am not looking forward to the stress of reading that one.
“‘And you won‘t do it for something trite as power or as easily satiable as greed,‘ he promises in a whisper, ‘but for the most illogical of mortal emotions—love. Or you‘ll die.‘”

My kindle didn‘t fit on its stand with this case and pop socket, so I‘m immortalizing my stickers here 🥲 Finally reading Iron Flame right before book 3 comes out! Also trying to start a bookstagram since TikTok is questionable. Find me at cewilf_reads 🥰
❤️ Loved it , again the spicy bits aren‘t for me (great thing about audible you can FF a little 😂) and frustrating with violets hypocritical reactions to Xaden secret keeping BUT could not put this down, especially after the interrogation room!! Brilliant!
Have my Preorder in for Onyx Storm
Sadly, I enjoyed this one even less than the first.
As a romance reader, I was super disappointed in the spicy scenes. It felt like zero character development happened in those scenes. If the spice doesn't serve the plot and doesn't give us insight into the character I just kinda feel it's unnecessary. But now I probably just sound like a prude.
Officially finished my Iron Flame reread! I picked up on so many more things this time around! 4 more days until Onyx Storm! Same rating (4.25/5)
Had two doctor appointments today. Ugh. Nothing's wrong, they were just regular checkup things. Still, I felt entitled to some little treats afterwards - which included a trip to McDonald's and then the bookstore! 🤭💕📚
I'm almost finished with my re-read of Iron Flame before Onyx Storm comes out next week!
Just finished Iron Flame today! 🛑 A few things didn‘t sit right with me. 😕 The whole miscommunication trope? Ugh, especially with strong characters – it just makes them feel weak. 💔 The love story didn‘t hit the mark for me, and I wasn‘t a fan of the ending or the twists. 🔄 It left me feeling… directionless. 🙄 I really hope Violet finds her strength again and stops whining about Zaden not telling her everything. Like, come on! 😅
Prepping for tonight- I am re reading Iron Flame to prepare for the Onyx Storm release, In the middle of Magical Midlife Challenge on kindle and listening Dawn on A Distant Shore and The Cruel Prince depending on my mood. 3/4 of these are repeats. #hyggehourreadathon
After reading Fourth Wing, I didn't read Iron Flame right away, and it finally got to the point where I decided to wait until closer to Onyx Storm coming out. Well that's now this month! So I'm starting Iron Flame today.
Probably my favourite exchange in the whole book. Made me laugh out loud.
“She makes a good point,” Andarna agrees. “Can you carry a luminary?”
“That question insults me.”
“Can you carry a luminary while insulted?” she prods.
Tairn growls.
“ We are the weapons , and this place is the stone they use to sharpen us!”
Basgiath War College , definitely not for the faint hearted.
Recently learned they are turning this into a tv series!
Besides Violet and Xaden‘s relationship annoying me, what am I supposed to do now?? How do I just go on with life all nonchalant while waiting for the next book?!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was a fun reread, especially to discuss with friends this time! And I definitely caught a lot that I missed on my first read.
But I read this in almost every spare minute of Christmas week, and it felt like it took forever. It‘s a fun story, great twists, etc. etc. but it is just. too. long.
I am looking forward to book 3 next month but hopefully with some stronger editing!
There were parts of this book that I really liked. I love Violet as a character. I loved how Tairn would constantly tell her, "I chose you for a reason. Don't listen to those jerks. You're a badass."
Andarna was so funny! I think the dragons stole the show.
What was the point of Cat? An annoying subplot, imo.
I did not see that one twist coming.
It was okay. I see why people like it.

•I mostly loved it, just a few minor issues…like the jealous ex-lover, and the “he doesn‘t love me because he isn‘t truthful” & the length…holy crap it was long. It was a whole 8 hours longer than book #1. That ending, though…😲 I still love Tairn & Andarna the most…they seriously steal the show.
• I love the narration by GA so much more than the OG recording of this series. The story is only 4.5 stars, but I upped it to 5 for the narration.
Tackle the TBR 🤓📚
