It felt like the story was lacking originality and wasn‘t very memorable but it was interesting and enjoyable.

I‘m borrowing a copy from a coworker (I will own it one day!!) and so the picture isn‘t mine. I am so glad that the hype was not over exaggerated! Violet is awesome (bookish badass) and the school she gets to go to is brutal, but fun and has some powerful lessons. There is the sexual tension, too. And 🐉!! Also, totally did not see the twist! #recentlyread
I‘m always sceptical when a book is so hyped, but this one absolutely lived up to it and more! Loved every page! Can‘t wait for round two!
I have been determined to read this since last year- I have a hardcover edition, a kindle edition and audio edition. And yes I am glad- My obsession feels a little like Twilight. Some holes in the story. Some things that annoyed me (why is there not an original calendar?) but I loved it…. all of it. Also i‘ve read 3 books this week!!!! My brain fog may be lifting finally 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
A double pick if I was able to choose!
I love the writing style, the charcters and the world Rebecca Yarros created.
You can read how Violet grows from a girl into a woman, how Xaden's wards fall down and how people become friends and friends become...
It is a enemy to romance, opposits attracts, forbidden love, love triangle,...
I am a fan and already started Iron Flame 😅
What a ride! Definitely did not see that last page coming. Looking forward to book two and more fun dragon dialogue! #fantasy #romantasy #dragons
Very cool dragons and really boring people! Ok, I know there is a ton of buzz around this book, but it is indeed a mediocre fantasy novel. The beginning is so slow and I didn‘t care about any of the characters. If they died, if they lived, didn‘t matter to me. It wasn‘t until about 170 pages in that it got good. This is a book that reads like a 15 year old wrote it, so don‘t expect good writing. But this was a fast read once the dragons showed up.
Enjoying Rebecca Yarros with @StaceGhost 💛 #nationalbookfestival24
I love hanging with friends at the National Book Festival!
Yes, it‘s all the hype! Fourth Wing 🪽 series is an action packed fantasy dream of dragons, magic & war college. I‘ve read 130 books so far this year and this was hands down the best! I loooove it! Can‘t wait for the 3rd book 📕 #OnyxStorm January 2025. 😍🐉🔥🗡️ I absolutely loved the FMC Violet 💜, Xaden took a minute to grow on me. 😂 Violet + Xaden 🥀

A great holiday read. If it hasn‘t already been decided I can definitely see this following in the path of The Hunger Games and becoming a movie franchise. I could probably have done with about 100 pages less but the cliff hanger at the end means I‘m in it for the series.
Not my usual genre, enjoyed this one and am now wondering why I left it for so long, looking forward to the next 2.
1. Podcast—I‘m never in favor of anything that requires me to be on camera!
2. I go back to work tomorrow 😭 so my summer is over, but I‘d like to read Fourth Wing in August!

Box #2 from @Gissy (she seriously spoiled me!!!) for the #staycationintimeswap sooooo I had to hide the passport holder cause my sister wants to steal it! 🤣🤣 my cousin works for Marshall‘s in PR and thinks she saw one like it and said she would send her one if she sees it. The beach towel!!!! 😍😍😍 i will use it this week! Sorry for the late post im having trouble with the app.
So I definitely get the hype now. This was just superb and I am so glad that I waited until I could properly enjoy it. Violet is a superb character and I am excited to read more about the world that Yarros is building in future books.
I have been saving this for summer when I can commit to just sitting and doing nothing but read this. Excuse me while I go hibernate - see you on the other side when I‘m sure my life will be irrevocably changed. I fully expect to love this book I am so excited.
Romantasy with dragons! What more can I say? Everyone has already talked about this book and said it all. I didn‘t expect to like it as much as I did. I absolutely loved it! I couldn‘t turn the pages fast enough and dove right into the next book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 ❤️📚
I had listened to a couple of drama podcasts with sound effects and cast but never a book, after some encouragement from new library coworkers, I listened to this, and wow. I am not typically into fantasy but this story grabbed me. It is an epic tale of young people being conscripted to save the world, it‘s like Hunger Games with dragons. I took more walks than usual to continue - PT at the library may be good for my health! *It is a little 🌶️.
This is the book that everyone is talking about and reading at the moment. Lots of action, fantasy, and romance. I really liked it and I‘ve reserved the 2nd book from my local library. Looking forward to reading it!
I‘m not much of a fantasy reader, but this audiobook was available so I‘m trying it out…
Listening to the dramatized audio of this book on my recent walks, it feels so real with a cast and sound effects I turned around several times thinking something was behind me. Several women at work are listening and now I‘m hooked! Enough to walk 3 miles in 85 degree heat today 🥵🤣
We are vacationing with two other families this year, and almost all of the readers going have read this and the second book in the series. My BFF, my sis in law, my BFF‘s daughter and my two bonus daughters (my sons‘ GFs). I don‘t want to feel left out! I borrowed my daughter‘s copy - she hasn‘t read it yet. Hoping I can finish both before we go on vacation. Was slow to start for me, but it‘s picking up. ❤️📚
I‘m not typically a fantasy reader but this had just the right amount of romance mixed in to make it a thoroughly enjoyable read for me. Definitely 5⭐️

𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐬⇩
-I already loved this author‘s contemporary romances
-She pulls off the new genre of fantasy fantastically
-Exceptional world-building
-These dragons are oozing personality…they are the best part of the whole series
-The narration is exceptionally cast for the most part
𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬⇩
-The sound effects can be a touch distracting, although it was better when I had headphones on.
This is the absolute worst book I've ever read. I hated every single thing about it. The writing, the straight up copying of popular series. Nothing in this world made any sense. Of course, we have the amazing BADASS girl who has no idea what she's doing, but somehow manages to be the most special person ever. And the guy she's lusting over is a tall, dark, brooding bad boy with shadow powers, who hates her, but wants to make her his. Eyeroll.
I absolutely devoured this book in one day and am left sorely disappointed because I don‘t have book 2 yet. I loved this! So fun, interesting and super hot! Can‘t wait for the next two!
Did anyone else have a hard time getting into Fourth Wing? I'm about to bail.
#Fourthwing
LOVED it. By the time Violet‘s dragon bonded her, I was IN. Dragons, magic, numerous gruesome deaths, a bit of daft “sizzling” tension, great fun. I‘m all for the easy reads right now.
A movie in your mind is the best way to describe this. I am even more ready for book 3 now… which is now pushed out to January 2025. I need Onyx Storm pronto! I yet why Yarros needs to take care of herself in this - I also have EDS and sometimes you‘re just ridiculously exhausted for extended periods. I will do whatever it takes to help her get this bad boy finished, though. Seriously.
My first foray into BookTok hype was…fine? A solid ⭐️⭐️⭐️ for a fast-paced and dragon-centered narrative, but predictable romance and some of the most clumsily written sex scenes I‘ve ever read knocked at least two stars off. I did buy the sequel before I was done, so am maybe being too harsh 🤷🏻♀️
This was a ⭐️⭐️⭐️ read for me. I know, everyone loves it! But while the overarching idea was original, all the ways it played out felt formulaic. The enemies to lovers was… so predictable. And I hated how Violet was “strong” but she was constantly talking about how weak she was and 1000% just focused on helping/impressing/getting the man. I got bored in the middle, but I will say the end picked up and was good. Not planning to read Iron Flame.
I‘m interested to see if Fourth Wing can be beat. 😍💛
What a book! I know there‘s a lot of hype but now I get why.. that ending 🤯 I love fantasy books but anything with dragons 😍
I just finished the second book so that review is coming 🥰
Oh my gosh.. I started reading this last year with my partner. We had more time and read together often. We had some schedule changes and I‘ve been reading solo this year, but I haven‘t worked up the nerve to resume Fourth Wing.
I finished ACOTAR and needed a break from romantasy, but I‘m back baby!! Excited to dive back in. I hope she‘s every bit as dramatic and magical as I‘ve heard. 🫣✨

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I get the hype, I really do. However, the very prominent and frequent lusting of the two main characters and graphic scenes kind of took away from how good the rest of the book was. Also the romance between Violet and Xaden felt a bit immature at times, especially towards the end. There were several majestic moments and plot points that I absolutely loved, and the cliffhanger demands for the sequel to be read.
It‘s been a while since a fantasy book has been able to capture my attention and all I want to do is binge read! 5/5!!
Okay, I'm officially hooked! I highly enjoyed this second part of the graphic audio more than the first. I didn't hear Violet talk about how hot Xaden was as much as the first part (this was kind of annoying). I was not expecting the ending, nor was I expecting my reaction when one of the characters died. Overall, I give the entire book 4.5 stars.

5✨ The plot was well thought out and there was a real element of danger. We do lose people both good and bad. The dragon element was perfect, and I love the young dragon. We don‘t really know who to trust, and that ending was a huge shock! The hype was true for me. There was a warning for sexual content in the audio, which I appreciated, but really besides three scenes it was not too overwhelming for someone who doesn‘t want to read it.
