2 posts | 4 read | 3 to read
• Now available in paperback • Winner of the 2007 American Authors Association Golden Quill Award • Winner of the 2007 Military Writers Society of America Founder's Award In Iraq, the front lines are everywhere—and everywhere in Iraq, no matter what their job descriptions say, women in the U.S. military are fighting—more than 155,000 of them. A critical and commercial success in hardcover, Band of Sisters presents a dozen groundbreaking and often heart-wrenching stories of American women in combat in Iraq, such as the U.S.'s first female pilot to be shot down and survive, the military's first black female pilot in combat, a young turret gunner defending convoys, and a nurse struggling to save lives, including her own.

Crazy idea, what if everyone gave $10 to a homeless shelter or veterans group today in honor of a veteran they know or love. It is a tangible way to help during an extra difficult year. And even small amounts add up. Just a thought. Happy Veterans Day to any of my followers who served. From one veteran to another. #veteransday

My first foray into Goodwill, to drop off donations I swear, resulted in a serious lack of willpower on my part. Has anyone read any of these and if so yea or nay? I was happy to see most people wearing their masks too.

Soubhiville The Hugh Howey isn‘t a book 1- you May want to start with WOOL, which I loved. 4y
bookishbitch @Soubhiville I did actually already read Wool and also loved it. 4y
