Mixed: A Colorful Story
Mixed: A Colorful Story | Arree Chung
5 posts | 8 read | 5 to read
In the beginning, there were three colors . . . Reds, Yellows, and Blues. All special in their own ways, all living in harmonyuntil one day, a Red says "Reds are the best!" and starts a color kerfuffle. When the colors decide to separate, is there anyting that can change their minds? A Yellow, a Blue, and a never-before-seen color might just save the day in this inspiring book about color, tolerance, and embracing differences.

There is nothing so magical as reading a book and realizing it is exactly the right age/level for the kids you‘re reading it with. Reading this book about color mixing (and, you know, racism and colorism and difference) with K-2nd grade this week while we make optical illusion tops that “mix” colors as they spin. #librariansofLitsy #outreach #picturebook #kidlit

Mixed: A Colorful Story is an adorable NF picture book that gives the message of acceptance and unity. The story of how the Reds, Yellows, and Blues come together to create a colorful society. This book would be great as a PR between your students because they can read it together and share their feelings about the book in a safe environment. #lae3414sp19

jessicabaksh UDL principle 8.3 (foster collaboration and community) goes well with this book because of its message of acceptance and unity 5y
jessicabaksh ESOL strategy 14 (simplify your speech by making it slower and redundant). This book is a good one to read a bit slower and emphasize words because of the simple sentences within it 5y

At first glance, this is a book about primary and secondary colors. Under the right hands, however, it could be so much more. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
