From #1 New York Times bestselling author David Baldacci comes a moving family drama about learning to love again after heartbreak and loss. ONE SUMMER It's almost Christmas, but there is no joy in the house of terminally ill Jack and his family. With only a short time left to live, he spends his last days preparing to say goodbye to his devoted wife, Lizzie, and their three children. Then, unthinkably, tragedy strikes again: Lizzie is killed in a car accident. With no one able to care for them, the children are separated from each other and sent to live with family members around the country. Just when all seems lost, Jack begins to recover in a miraculous turn of events. He rises from what should have been his deathbed, determined to bring his fractured family back together. Struggling to rebuild their lives after Lizzie's death, he reunites everyone at Lizzie's childhood home on the oceanfront in South Carolina. And there, over one unforgettable summer, Jack will begin to learn to love again, and he and his children will learn how to become a family once more.

3.5 ⭐️ get the tissues! I listened to the audio version on my way to and from work - probably not the best idea since I walked in with red eyes. It was a good family drama/love story. Good one to start the new year.

A quick read that is perfect for the beach, this one was a touching story about love, loss, forgiveness and second chances. Reminded me of Nicolas Sparks books.

4. Stay home unless we are going to the beach.

Day 3 | #readingresolutions #bookandbeachtowel

This is next up on my hubbie‘s TBR. Nice to see him taking a break from his usual military SAS books. But hey, reading is reading 😊

These are my husband's books, but I'm the one most likely to read while at the beach.

I loved this book. It was so heart wrenching and touching. I cried so many times because of the intensity and depth of emotions i felt while reading this book.

A book full of surprises, laughter, sadness and most of all believing in miracles. Despite a lot of negative reviews, I loved this book and will always hold it close to my heart.

“Because life doesn't work that way. You can do everything perfectly. Do everything you think you're supposed to be doing. Fulfill every expectation that other people may have. And you still won't get the results you think you deserve. Life is crazy and maddening and often makes no sense.”

Like a watered down Nicholas Sparks. But not as entertaining.
