Yoga Bitch
Yoga Bitch: One Woman's Quest to Conquer Skepticism, Cynicism, and Cigarettes on the Path to Enlightenment | Suzanne Morrison
6 posts | 11 read | 9 to read
The solo performer best known for her touring show, Yoga Bitch, describes her participation in an intensive yoga retreat in Bali as part of an effort to overcome her neuroses and materialism and achieve inner peace, an unexpectedly humorous program that forced her to confront her fears about dying, addiction to cigarettes and fondness for chocolate. Original.

Absolutely loved this book! A true life account of a real life woman who loves to eat meat and smoke cigarettes, going all the way to Bali for a yoga retreat surrounded by people who are a bit more committed to the 'full on yogi lifestyle' than she is. She learns to adapt and become one of them to an extent, while remaining true to herself. Lots of LOL moments. This was just the inspiration I needed to get back into yoga myself.

Okay, so this memoir isn't actually bad, but I felt like it was a guilty pleasure. She's real and being a "bad yogi" (if you can even say such a thing). The cover cracks me up! #sobaditsgood #maybookflowers

Somewhere between Pick and So-So. It wasn't funny in the way it was made out to be in the descriptions I read or as the cover indicates (or maybe it just wasn't my sense of humour) but still a good read - if you enjoy yoga, otherwise probably not so much.
