#GratefulReads Day 26: This must be, by far, one of the most viscerally-moving picturebooks I have ever read and it has been adapted into #APlay in Perth. Too bad I missed it when I delivered a lecture when I was invited there back in 2015.

#NewHogwartsAdventure Day 22: The fox has always been portrayed as the #cunning creature that ensnares its unsuspecting quarry in mythology/ folk tales. It plays that character to the hilt in this narrative. But the fox does not ‘eat‘ its prey the way we expect. It shows the reader that there is a fate worse than death, that there is unremitting darkness in those haunted eyes filled with malice and foreboding. Full review - https://wp.me/pDlzr-54J

This book is beautifully illustrated. The story is haunting. Dog and Magpie are perfectly happy until Fox shows up. The end leaves you wondering. Grab a copy for yourself at WoodsUsborneBooks.com and let me know what you think.
