At the Christmas Lodge
At the Christmas Lodge | Rebekah Morris

When Desirae Richey agrees to go home with some college friends for Christmas, she expects a small family gathering. Instead she is taken to the Christmas Lodge in the snowy mountains of Canada to a noisy, fun loving, adventurous group of family and friends who welcome her as one of their own. Everything seems to be going as planned until an unexpected snowfall occurs.

#winterfestivethoughts @bullbunny
1️⃣ Christmas Eve, sleeping & burping on Christmas day, the cousins' party on Boxing Day
2️⃣ 👆
3️⃣ Food!
4️⃣ All the snow!
5️⃣ I prefer bad Christmas movies shot in Vancouver in July. My current fav is The Christmas Lodge (2012). A fundamentalist christian tale, with horrible dialogue, bad theology and a miracle at the end. Best part: pastor hubby screaming at the screen!

Neither am I. Let me be frank: i love, love, love bad Christmas movies shot in Vancouver in July, they are my favourite, but not on November 3rd.

Jilly6183 Agreed. Can I please eat my Thanksgiving turkey first? And this movie is just shamelessly ripping of Liar Liar, huh? 😂 6y
tournevis @Jilly6183 Well, Thanksgiving was in October, sooo... 6y
tournevis @Jilly6183 Also, I don't remember this movie, though I know I've seen it. 6y

rabbitprincess My mum and aunt love bad Christmas movies too! My mum could probably write her own, she's seen so many 😂 6y
Sace Right? I even spotted some holiday ads before Halloween! 6y
tournevis @rabbitprincess It's the formula that makes them so good 6y
tournevis @RestlessFickleBookHoarder The Christmas stuff was up mid-October at some stores in my area this year. They were clearing shelves of Halloween stuff on the *30th* to make way for more Christmas stuff. 6y
Sace That's just insane. 6y
Jilly6183 @tournevis Thanksgiving is like the forgotten middle child of fall holidays in the US thanks to the commercialism and consumerism of Halloween and Christmas (symbolic, no?). And Liar Liar was a movie from the 90s with Jim Carey, who played a scumbag lawyer and deadbeat dad. His son makes a birthday wish that his dad can't lie for just one day, and his wish comes true, leading to all kinds of shenanigans when the dad can't lie his way out things. 6y
Melissa_J I love Hallmark movies. I‘m not ready for Christmas stuff yet, but I‘ll watch Hallmark movies, Christmas-themed or not, at any time of the year 😊 6y
writerlibrarian That particular channel started its xmas movie all the time earlier than usual. i saw that yesterday evening and I went ... didn't that started December 1? 🤷🏼‍♀️ 6y
tournevis @Jilly6183 I remember Liar Liar. I mean I did not remember the Christmas movie in the pic. 6y
tournevis @Melissa_J To me, the Hallmark movies are the least interesting. Too perfect, not cheap enough. The really low budget ones are better for me. 6y
tournevis @writerlibrarian I thought so too. 6y
tournevis @Jilly6183 And despite what the US believes, Thanksgiving was in October. It's nit the same date up here. 6y
Jilly6183 @tournevis I think most of us know that it's in October in Canada? I just didn't know you are in Canada when I first commented 6y
tournevis @Jilly6183 No worries 6y
