Aliens and humans don't always mix. Wars, and surprises, and one guy sent to figure out what the heck is going on. I enjoyed it quite a bit and will probably continue the series. I listened to the audio, and it was good fun.

Pickpick

I enjoyed this debut novel. I loved the MC. If he was older, I would call him a curmudgeon. Instead I'll use crotchety and the narrator did an excellent job of portraying him. Plot was solid. A little more character development would have been nice. Solid read. 4 ⭐

As with many people this is one of my busiest times, and I often look for lighter fun reads to distract me from the hustle and bustle. One of my go to genres is military science fiction. Planetside was a highly enjoyable mix of investigative mystery and interplanetary mil-sci-fi. RC Bray‘s narration perfectly fits the complicated tough guy protagonist and wide array of characters.
