Bailedbailed

This isn‘t for me. It‘s too slow and for my opinion it isn‘t developed well. The blurb tells me it‘s about a guy living alone in a mountain cottage because he lost his wife and child. So I thought it‘s about him coming back to life but until hour 1,5 it‘s just waffeling on his childhood, his philosophical positions, his parents‘ and his grandparents‘ lifes. No, I‘m out of patience.

It‘s so monotonous I feel asleep although I wanted to listen.

After an interesting beginning the protagonist now tells very detailed and slowly of his childhood and here and there inserts and anecdote and a piece of puzzle from how he met his future wife and about how they lived together.

Seems the moment I am not really prepared or in the mood for something like that. In my eyes it just drags and I find it a bit boring.

Yeah, sure, because „The Bell Jar” didn‘t leave absolutely no imprint or echo in me I just chose a light but hopefully entertaining audiobook to let me be read to sleep. 🙄

How poor but open to influence I am.
