Audre Lorde simply has a way with words that is unparalleled. So much to think about with this little read that covers 5 powerful essays/speeches that she delivered during her lifetime. I particularly loved “Uses of Anger: Women Responding to Racism” - an essay I‘m sure I‘ll return to time and again in the future.

Sibling pointed this one out to me, what I'm hoping will be a good intro to read more of her work and similar, a short collection of essay/speeches from a Black, lesbian, feminist poet.

Audre Lorde is a classic black feminist writer for a reason and this would be a great way to tip your toes into her writing and thoughts. She was so ahead of her time, intersectionality is so important when it comes to feminism and she was way ahead of the game when it came to talking about this. It is both inspiring and depressing how on point she is. LOVE this and will be rereading and reading everything by her.

"Poetry is the way we help give name to the nameless so it can be thought." I'm going to end up underlining every sentence in this lovely little selection of Lorde's essays! #chasingthejanuarybluesaway
