About to get into my October book club read, queer book club-
pickAs the parent of a queer son, and as the teacher of students struggling with their identities and places on the binary spectrum, this book is enlightening. The Introduction was especially informative and well-researched. Knowledge about a subject that many of us are unfamiliar with will only help allies support everyone. Reading the stories of those struggling to be understood and accepted in our binary world will help us towards acceptance.
pick30 authors share how their experiences are shaped by the deeply entrenched gender binary of our society. Cis and binary trans people can learn so much by opening their minds & taking in these experiences. For those on the #nonbinary spectrum, this is a true gift of representation thanks to the book's breadth. There's an overall message that whatever form a person's journey takes is valid.
