Canada's Wheat King
Canada's Wheat King: The Life and Times of Seager Wheeler | Jim Shilliday
2 posts
The life of Seager Wheeler is one of the most significant--albeit nearly forgotten--Canadian success stories. He was North America's most celebrated wheat developer, whose varieties in the 1920s made up 40 percent of the world's wheat exports, and contributed wealth to most facets of the Canadian economy. His most publicized accomplishment was being crowned World Wheat King an unsurpassed five times, from 1911 to 1918.

We can't get Robin Hood flour in the States anymore. So, we took a little day trip today across the Blue Water Bridge (1st time in 50 years!) & picked up flour (best for pie crust and pasties), Coffee Crisp, & Red Rose #tea. "#Canada nice" proven by the woman who insisted on waiting for us in the parking lot to show us how to get to a restaurant she recommended. #MittenLitten

JamieArc My sister-in-law was just in Quebec and brought me back a tote back that says “10 provinces, 3 territories, 40 million inhabitants. Sorry, but never the 51st state.” It is perfect 🇨🇦 3d

LeahBergen I‘m Canadian and my Mom told me that as a teenager they used to make this prank call to grocery stores : Prank caller: “Hello, do you have Robin Hood by the bag?” Grocery store: “Why yes, we do”. Prank caller: “Well, you better let him go!” 😂😂 3d
