Finished on 03 March 2024.
Unfortunately, I just did not vibe with this collection. It's similar, on the surface, to Coffee Days Whiskey Nights in that it's short rambling poems, but it didn't speak to me. I tried to hang in there but I finally decided not to finish it.
⭐️⭐️
I was really let down by this book. This was honestly just a book of rambling about self-love, motivation, and love that was all over the place and was not poetry. The flow of the book itself was weird and I didn‘t understand the point of the randomly colored words highlighted throughout the book. There were very few passages that actually spoke to me and I almost bailed on this one several times.
I thought it was an absolutely beautiful poetry/verse novel. It was brilliant without being pretentious and spoke to a lot of the insecurities and anxieties present in my generation.

Loving this read so far. Felt this checklist especially relevant. Social distancing and self-care, friends! ?
Starting off April BookishBingo with this poetry/verse novel. And a glass of wine, because #winewednesday is still a thing while social distancing! 💙
The thing about poetry is you meet someone while you read it. You meet girls who drink too much and write on napkins, women who ignore their shoe laces and men who like to look at the sky too long. Lots of different types of people. Sometimes you meet them and they say beautiful things, but they live in a bubble and you want to pop it. “Some people can‘t afford to be this delusional” -Noel Miller
I believe in these words enough to host a #giveaway to another person. Your choice of the hard or soft cover!! Rules here: https://www.instagram.com/p/BuoOZfTH_Ob/?utm_source=ig_share_sheet&igshid=1oo9df...
I picked up this book on Sunday, coincidentally just a day after a good friend of mine took his own life. In the midst of grief and guilt and anger, as I read these words, I felt the need to share my heart. If you are scared or ashamed or lost, you are not alone. You are loved. It‘s okay to be not okay. Share your burdens and your troubles, together we are strong enough to defeat any demon. It‘s okay to ask for help. ❤️
