The scion of a banking magnate he is successful, handsome, and determined to carve his own path in the world-and to build a future with the woman he loves. With Florentyna's ultimate goal only a heartbeat away, both are about to discover the shattering price of power as a titanic battle of betrayal and deception reaches out from the past-a blood feud between two generations that threatens to destroy everything Florentyna and Richard have fought to achieve. BONUS MATERIAL INCLUDED: 1st chapter of Jeffrey Archer's newest novel SINS OF THE FATHER, coming May 2012. SINS OF THE FATHER: On the heels of the international bestseller Only Time Will Tell, Jeffrey Archer picks up the sweeping story of the Clifton Chronicles.... Only days before Britain declares war on Germany, Harry Clifton, hoping to escape the consequences of long-buried family secrets, and forced to accept that his desire to marry Emma Barrington will never be fulfilled, has joined the Merchant Navy. But his ship is sunk in the Atlantic by a German U-boat, drowning almost the entire crew. An American cruise liner, the SS Kansas Star, rescues a handful of sailors, among them Harry and the third officer, an American named Tom Bradshaw. When Bradshaw dies in the night, Harry seizes on the chance to escape his tangled past and assumes his identity. On landing in America, however, Bradshaw quickly learns the mistake he has made, when he discovers what is awaiting him in New York. Without any way of proving his true identity, Harry Clifton is now chained to a past that could be far worse than the one he had hoped to escape.

Everyone is complaining about the rain and canceling plans. Not me! I‘m happy about both, because I‘m in a reading zone and all I want to do is read! And 👀 at the books I‘m about to read! 😍😍😍

This is the sequel to Kane and Abel, following Abel's daughter Florentyna throughout her life, from childhood to acting as chairman for her father's hotel group, to a life in politics. This was interesting but oddly paced, where a large portion of the book covered what had already been covered in Kane and Abel, while Florentyna's foray into politics seemed rushed. 3⭐

Poor old O'Brien, does anyone on DS9 get kicked around and beaten up as much as him? I like how this episode picked up the threads from Honor Among Thieves, although with tragic results. Dax's family's role in this story was fairly predictable, but it was still entertaining.

Megabooks I think @tournevis would agree with you about O‘Brien! 6y

I read these books a long time ago from my father's library and quite enjoyed them. Kane & Abel tells the story of the rivalry between 2 men born on the same day under very different circumstances. The Prodigal Daughter is the sequel and it's about the first female president in the US, which seemed very fitting for today's #politicalfiction . And also it may stop being a fiction today... #photoadaynov16
