This was okay, which is exactly how I felt about the og book. (That was one of the rare times when there adaptation was better than the book, imo.) It still held my interest, but I don‘t find Bushnell or her friends relatable. 🤷‍♀️ [Quarantine book #38; “read a book with no pictures”]

A great read giving us a look at being single again in the city after age 50. Written from Candace‘s POV in short chapters each one is a short story about Candace & her friends Sassy, Kitty, Queenie, Tilda Tia,& Marilyn.
A perfect quick read that I finished in 1 day, it made me laugh, and even cry. On sale Aug 6th My full review:

I have read every Candace Bushnell book she has ever written. When I saw she had written Is There Still Sex in the City?, I pounced. Buyer beware this is not a continuation of the Sex in the City series, however this a delightful memoir from Bushnell that starts right after she gets divorced.

Not at all what I was expecting from the woman who gave us Carrie, Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte but still a quick and enjoyable read, if a little depressing. This is a story of dating and finding your life again as a single woman in her 50's. I'm definitely not the target demographic for this book but it was interesting to read.

I'd give it a 3.5 ⭐

Is There Still Sex in the City? is a satirical look at how middle-aged women are perceived, the unrealistic expectations put upon women by way of not aging and doing/having it all, as well as all the different stages and types of love—marriage, having children, not having children, divorce, and widowhood.

Bushnell is a fantastic writer. She's engaging, captivating, and razor sharp and this wry social commentary collection is no exception.
