Does anyone else remember these Lone Wolf books from the 80s and 90s? I was obsessed with them during my middle school years. Part "Choose Your Own Adventure", part "Dungeons & Dragons", they allowed you to build a character and accumulate items and skill sets that could be carried over from one book to the next. The prose was surprisingly good, too, closer to your typical mass-market fantasy paperback than an actual CYOA book.
MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm 😱 What is this magnificence I see before me?!?! I have definitely got to track these down now! 😍 4y
The_Penniless_Author @MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm Haha, apparently a minor collector's item, at least the first book, judging by some of the prices I've found online. Thriftbooks seems to have most of the later books for about 5 or 6 dollars, though. They were fun! I remember getting really sucked into them at the time. 4y
MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm Lol, just my luck! I‘ll have to try and keep a sharp eye out at thrift stores, maybe I‘ll get REALLY lucky. 😅 4y
swynn Yeah, those bring back memories -- I discovered them in college while browsing a local used bookstore. Past the target age group, but still enjoyed 'em. 4y
