I had to know how this ended so I stuck with it but it took too much page skimming to get there.

Alice has a six year old daughter and is pregnant with her second when her husband dies. She discovers that he was hiding a part of his life from her, and she decides to investigate his movements of the past few years. While the beginning of the novel was compelling, Alice kept making so many bizarrely bad choices that my suspension of disbelief began to crack. I had a difficult time buying the ending. Perhaps I have read too many thrillers.
All my library holds came in! I need to read the next Louise Penny. Liberty talked about Alice‘s Island on All the Books, and I read a great review (WSJ or NYT) of The Huntress. I need to finish one of the four books I am currently reading before I start another!
