More Than Exes
More Than Exes | Elizabeth Briggs

He wants to win. She wants to win him back. Keyboardist Kyle Cross may look like a bad boy with his tattoos and piercings, but he's really the good guy who's always stuck fixing his band's problems and never gets the girl. His band is competing in a Battle of the Bands, but when their bassist doesn't show, Kyle must track her down with the help of the person he least expects: his ex-girlfriend Alexis Monroe. Kyle hasn't seen Alexis since she dumped him in high school, and she's dropped her preppy image for fiery red hair and a bold new attitude to match. With only hours before his band goes on stage, Kyle has to be a little bad if he wants to win both the Battle and the girl he's never gotten over. But when their old problems resurface, the good guy might just get his heart broken all over again. A stand-alone novella that launches the Chasing The Dream series! The Chasing The Dream Series: #0.5 More Than Exes - Kyle & Alexis's story #1 More Than Music - Jared & Maddie's story #2 More Than Comics - Hector & Tara's story #3 More Than Fashion - Julie & Gavin's story #4 More Than Once - Becca & Andy's story #5 More Than Distance - Carla's story (coming soon!)

Pickpick

I like Elizabeth Briggs a lot, y‘all. This prequel novella delivers a good second chance love story that gives its leads room to grow as people and as a couple. It also introduces the protagonists from the rest of the Chasing the Dream series to exactly the right degree, with enough detail to entice but not so much it detracts from the main couple‘s journey. I‘m glad I‘ve got the rest of the books on hand!

It was a close call, but I managed to stay awake long enough to finish this novella.

Then, oblivion.

All in all, it was a good Readathon. I knocked four novellas off La TBR, finished one audiobook, made a good start on another, and continued my ORANGE reread. Plus, I had lots of fun helping with the Instagram and seeing what my fellow Littens read. Yay! #readathon

I‘m sooooooo tired, y‘all. Way more so than I usually am by this point in the ‘thon.

I‘m inclined to blame the beers I drank at the social.

I‘ve been trying to read this novella while I drink some lovely, caffeine-filled coffee, but there‘s a REALLY good chance I‘ll go to bed and pass out instead. We‘ll see how I feel after the coffee runs out. #readathon

All Readathon activities are temporarily suspended while I social.

(If you live somewhere where socials aren‘t A Thing, they‘re pre-wedding parties you pay to attend so the couple can defray costs. There‘s booze and loud music and door prizes. I hope I win the Money Tree, or the large assortment of dog toys. Casey needs a hedgehog.)

wanderinglynn Good luck! 🤞🏻🍀 5y
