This was a cute, fun book all about beetles. It includes education images and headings. It includes the life cycle in the book and makes the topic of beetles interesting.

this book had a lot of cute illustrations including the front cover. they are colorful, detailed, and uniquely drawn.

This book would be a great read for 3rd to 4th grade. A simple but interesting read for a science book.

This book is organized very well. It is structure to learn about beetles' life. Where certain beetles are found and what they might do. The headings in the book show what is clearly being discussed.

I would use this book in a classroom because it builds the builder's knowledge of the natural world around them

This is a good nonfiction book because the purpose of the book is to inform the reader on the different type of beetles. The book was designed to do so and it does inform the reader about beetles.

This book was super informative! This would be a great resource for children to learn about bugs. I know the children at the CDC have a love for beetles!

A Beetle is Shy by Dianna Hutts Aston is a piece of nonfiction. It was published in 2016. It takes us through a beetles whole life cycle from beginning to end. It tells us about characteristics of the beetles and their environments. This almost feels like a beetle index. This book would be an easy one to jump into at any point and learn some quick facts.

A newborn, soft and hungry, hurrying to seal itself into a cocoon, where it can be still and cozy until it becomes what it was meant to be.

I loved the colorful and vibrant illustrations in this book about beetles. It makes it very fun to read.

I liked how this book started with “a beetle is...“ and then goes on to talk about specific facts about what the beetle is. It tells you about how a beetle is born, types of beetles, what they do, how they act, and how they are harmful and helpful as well as prehistoric.

“A beetle is a digger... a runner... a hopper... or a swimmer.“

The illustrations of this book are very detailed about beetles throughout their life cycle. They even show the actual cycle of how a beetle forms and grows to be full sized.

I liked this book! It explains the life cycle of a beetle very well, and makes the reader want to find out more about it. While I am not the biggest fan of insects, I was interested in reading more about this topic.

I enjoyed learning about how a beetle starts as an egg, and forms into a beetle.

my favorite page was where it was showing all the colors a beetle could be. I really liked how you could look at the pictures while also learning the types of beetles

wow! I could just look at the illustrations of this book and be entertained but also learn something. this book would be amazing for visual learners

I would love to use this book for a nature lesson in class. Children love looking at nature and seeing all the unique creatures that live in the outdoors. It would be a great book to use to teach children more about organisms that live outside

Published in 2016- this book is a great work of nonfiction. The images are so stunning and colorful, and the book is full of facts about beetles that many children would be extremely interested in and love to read about and share with others!

Very beautifully illustrated.

This nonfiction book creates a look into the world of beetles, bugs that have been on the planet back when dinosaurs were alive. This can be super fascinating for kids who like bugs and insects. I personally don‘t like bugs, so I wouldn‘t want to read it by myself.

A Beetle Is Shy is an interesting book about different types of beetles. I think children will really enjoy learning about different types of beetles and recognizing ones that they may see sometimes

2016, nonfiction. Informational text that tells about a beetle through a story. Tells about the transformation of a beetle and different types of beetles. Words flow on the page and the pictures cover the pages. Gives more information about where they come from, their traits, and provides this information in small paragraphs and sentences.
