The Proust Questionnaire | Marcel Proust
post image

1. I love meeting people with similar reading interests.
2. I really love most of it. Although there are some things I may not be interested in, I feel like people want to share what they‘re interested in, and they have as much right to that as I do to my favorite things.
3. Maybe a hashtag for people who are having troubles that they feel like one or more of us can help with by way of chat, e.g., illness, hard times, or just basic malaise.
⬇️

LibrarianRyan I like your idea for 3. 4y
gradcat ⬆️ 4. Daily. 5. I personally do not love Readathons, but I like all of the rest. 6. If there is a way see the posts of your particular friends on a daily basis, that would be great. I can‘t remember everyone, so looking up their handles is difficult. I realize this may be impossible. #KeepLitsyActive #LitsyQuestionnaire 4y
gradcat @LibrarianRyan Thank you. I know that sometimes members go through tough times, and don‘t necessarily want to say anything in an otherwise upbeat post. Plus, sometimes one is capable of helping others, but other times may find one can‘t take on more “stuff,” if you will. This seems like a way to address both issues at once. ♥️ (edited) 4y

ljuliel Definitely a good point on number 3. Maybe we could think of something to use as that hashtag. Only problem is there‘s no pm in here so you‘d be sharing your business for everyone to see unless we did emails. 4y
StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego Agree with number 2 ❤ 4y
gradcat @StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego Thanks! In my case, I read slower than a lot of these folks, and post my reviews slower still, so I wouldn‘t be posting very often if that was all I did! 😂 4y
gradcat @ljuliel I hope you‘ll forgive me for this...but I‘ve noticed that lots of people would like to restrict contact to only bookish convos. But it seems to me one can‘t really have the kind of conversations you wish to see if they are limited in subject matter 🤷🏽‍♀️ Just a thought, and please forgive me if I sound harsh. ♥️ I just want to be sure I‘m understanding, because I read this comment on several questionnaires. Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @gradcat very well said! (6th comment) (edited) 4y
gradcat @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Thank you! ☺️ ♥️ 4y
Bookwormjillk @gradcat for me I love and often add to non-bookish convos. I‘d just like to be able to do a really targeted search. 4y
ljuliel No offense taken at all. I‘m only going by the majority of posters who‘ve answered the questions. I have no problem at all with folks posting their pets or what they see on their walks or what their town looks like. Only a small number said strictly books and nothing else. Others were a bit more selective in things they don‘t want to see or scroll through. I don‘t mind a balance of things just so books don‘t get lost in the shuffle. 4y
gradcat @Bookwormjillk & @ljuliel Thanks for your clarifications. Sometimes I‘m afraid to speak up about these things, because I certainly don‘t want to offend anyone. But you guys made me feel at ease with my having said anything. I appreciate that. ♥️♥️♥️ 4y
ljuliel @gradcat I hope everyone in here feels comfortable enough to voice their opinions without judgment. We have a varied number of feelings on what content should be. The best way I can see it so that everyone is relatively happy is to try to put a bit more book related posts so we get more conversation in that direction , but also not regulate off topic content. I‘m hoping everyone can meet in the middle . Thank you for your reply. ❤️ 4y
gradcat @ljuliel I think this is a perfect solution! ♥️ 4y
