Molly Somerville loves her career as the creator of the Daphne the Bunny children's book series, but the rest of her life could use some improvement. She has a reputation for trouble that started even before she gave away her fifteen-million-dollar inheritance. Then there's her long-term crush on the quarterback for the Chicago Stars football team her sister ownsthat awful, gorgeous Kevin Tucker, a man who can't even remember Molly's name! One night Kevin barges into Molly's not-quite-perfect life and turns it upside down. Unfortunately, the Ferrari-driving riving, poodle-hating jock isn't as shallow as she wishes he were, and she soon finds herself at a place called Wind Lake. Surrounded by paintbox cottages, including a charming old bed-and-breakfast, Molly and Kevin battle their attraction and each other as they face one of life's most important lessons. Sometimes love hurts, sometimes it makes you mad as hell, and sometimesif you're luckyit can heal in a most unexpected way.

Original title: THIS HEART OF MINE
Series: CHICAGO STARS #5

I recommend it to those who love the slice of life genre without too many drama, super fun and with dynamics of friends and family in every book.
the last book in the series, and a very light reading to pass with the last football daredevil player.

Don't mind me while I'm still over here just chugging right along with my SEP re-readathon 😜 #romantsy

This one's always a winner! I love Molly's kooky personality and imagination and her and Kevin's banter is 👌🏽

🌟🌟🌟🌟⭐
Another great installment in SEP's Chicago Stars series. I struggled a bit with Molly initially but she very quickly won me over. Her and Kevin were a lot of fun and I enjoyed their romance a lot. Starting to see some recurring themes but with fresh twists still so no complaints!

EloisaJames This is my favorite--it's so wrenching. And it takes a particular genius to write such a vivid bad sex scene (when he's sleeping in the couch). Also interesting to look at consent from the other side! 7y
Deebee @EloisaJames this was the first SEP that had me crying. It was amazing how quickly she turned me around on Molly from dislike to empathy to really liking her character. I felt so bad for Kevin but it was interesting his feelings on the consent issue. I loved how they helped each other in their unique ways as well. Their talk about Sarah tore my heart out. Now I have to choose my next SEP adventure! 7y
EloisaJames @Deebee have you read the one with Sugarbeth? (Can't remember the title). That's another one where you don't like the heroine and it all turns around! 7y

Deebee @EloisaJames Sugarbeth? Good lord, what a name! I have definitely not read that. Google has now told me she is from Ain't She Sweet - is that the one? I do adore "villain" to hero stories, so to the list it goes! Thanks!! ? 7y
EloisaJames @Deebee yup, that's it! And she really is a villain! 7y
Deebee @EloisaJames oh brilliant! And it looks like a stand alone - even better! 7y
