I didn‘t do any reading for over a week, just to avoid this book. It‘s trying too hard to be mystical in places, then turns around and acts like this is medieval Europe (Christian as the day is long) in another place. This book is so cliché, it practically defines the term. Then, somehow, minnows and sharks will be in the same body of water...never mind that one is fresh water and one is salt water. This book is ridiculous. Thank god it was free.

JazzFeathers Goodness, it sounds horrible. 5y
GingerAntics @JazzFeathers it really was. I completely understand the many so-so votes for this book, and if I‘d stuck with it, perhaps I would have ended up giving it a so-so, but I just don‘t want to. I‘ve got too much other stuff to read and catch up with to put up with this rubbish. 5y

This book feels so confused and so cliche. I‘m honestly not sure how much longer this is going to last. I‘ve got about 4 more hours on this train, but I know I can‘t do another 4 hours of this book.

This hasn‘t gotten the best reviews here on Litsy, but it‘ll kill some time, so might as well go for it.

I‘m not a fantasy reader so when Day 28 #bookwithdragons came upon me, I must admit that I got a little flustered. So I took a look at all the dragon book covers and I liked this one the best. Maybe there is somebody on Litsy that can actually tell us what this book was like to read!

I got the book free on iBooks. It was good with decent characters but the author really needs an editor. Many sentences lacked structure and cohesion. That said, it wasn't bad as for plot and characters. Unique. I think it's a great YA fantasy book and really gives a sense of growth and independence. The author gets in their own way here, so just be warned.

I wish there was was a category between pick and so so. First off - I hit it lucky and got it for free from Barnes & Noble for the Nook. I'm not a fantasy reader for the most part. Although I loved The Mists of Avalon and The Game of Thrones book series. This book does not come near those particular books in regards to writing, characters, originality, etc. but I did enjoy it and would read the next in the series if it was reasonably priced.

There were flashes of brilliance but they were outweighed by moments when he author went a bit over the top and could have done with a strong editor.
