Unlike the first Star Wars: Battlefront, I am enjoying this book and keep picking it up. I‘m a slow read but I‘ve made more progress in this in the last week than I did in a month on the first Battlefront. Another new canon book that‘s well written.

Such a tedious book. The first 50 pages were gold and now it's just... I can't keep reading. 72 pages in, 22 that just kind of derail.

The most unique post-apocalypse book I've ever read. It combines drama, humor, and a good storyline. You'll fall in love with characters and relate to them. If you are looking for something different, this is a great book to start with! One liners and great dialogue. I highly suggest this book. 4.75/5⭐️

Talk about service...
"Great. Now if possible, my friend and I would like to see naked girls and get shit-faced."
"...it will be our pleasure to clean up your vomit should you overindulge."

Sadly, you have to wait for an apocalypse to get any decent service these days.

I listened to this on CD, the audio is great. When I first bought this I didn't realize how young the characters were. Regardless, it's a very good listen. Definitely one I would suggest for teens. Deals with coming of age and teenage angst. Being the second in the series & having not read or listened to the first, I was happy that it came together enough I didn't feel like I missed a ton. Pick it up and give it a go if you like apocalyptic books

Good book! Halo fans will love it. Sci-Fi fans would love the Halo book series. Great characters, lots of storylines and events. This unites several of the Halo series and timelines from the books and games. Definitely worth the read! Well written and great editing. Even war fiction fans would enjoy this. 👍🏻👍🏻

I got the book free on iBooks. It was good with decent characters but the author really needs an editor. Many sentences lacked structure and cohesion. That said, it wasn't bad as for plot and characters. Unique. I think it's a great YA fantasy book and really gives a sense of growth and independence. The author gets in their own way here, so just be warned.

Stranger in a Strange Land | Robert A. Heinlein

I love returning to this book. When it can make you question everything from religion to sexuality to morals without alienating you. It was the Matrix before the movie was dreamt up. I return to this book because I find it a goodness to always question myself before I get to deep into myself. It really brings to light the old idea that your perception is your reality. Your only limits are those you set for yourself.

Halo: Glasslands | Karen Traviss, Traviss

A futuristic military book about chaos and deception. Multiple factions after a war, fighting themselves. If you like the Halo video games, the books, any sci-fi war novels, this is a book for you. I'm about halfway through. It's devoid of quotable one-liners, which is a shame, but it is a darn good read.

An interesting book free on iBooks. Who doesn't like a good bit of pirate booty. I read it at work on my breaks and it helped pass time fairly quickly. If you want a pirate book but don't care about the whole "reality" bit, it's worth a read.

My wife got this for me for Christmas. Let me just say, this isn't a book you read cover to cover. This in the definitive guide to all things Floyd. From their founding to their solo albums and everything between. It is packed with facts about recordings and concerts. If there's ever a bar argument this will settle it.

A great steampunk type novel. A pirates and airships and mystery, the lead character is a young lady out to save her mother. It's a fun book and an easy read. Certainly worth it. Got it free on iBooks.

This book is odd, a quick read but left me wanting. It's reimagined fan fiction for Robert A. Heinlein's book, "Starship Troopers." It's told from the POV of a former soldier who has PTSD and tries to avoid anything and everything. The end wasn't satisfying to me at all and the character isn't someone you cheer for, also not an antihero. Just a cynical asshole. I mean, I am too but this character was frustrating. Better writing than WOOL at least.

Just started this, turns out it is the second in a series. The good thing, so far it has read clean so it doesn't feel like I'm missing something. Appears to be an alternate history series, starts out with the Donner party... I'll let your minds play with that.

"I use to believe there were heroes in the world..." This book was a great end to the Shattered Sea trilogy. All the characters come together and by the end you have some new favorites and some old ones left behind. Worth reading slowly and enjoying every bit. A great follow up to the first book. Some of the writing could've been better and less emphasis on the development of an obviously strained relationship, plus a thesaurus would help. It is a great book and great story, really builds for the final installment. Had a few turns that you'll see coming.

There be a fair amount of murder and treasure and whoring and fighting herein this set of pages. The authors sees to it that all pirates meet an agreeable fate including one bastard who was shot in his man-jewels by his wench. Ye best be liking this or suffer the penalty of pain.

When it starts out talking about the provenance of an ancient manuscript, it does no favors. It's a rereretelling and translation of this manuscript which starts with, "Praise to Master Muhammed" ...and I'm out. Listed as fiction but manuscript is nonfiction. Done. No more. Not gonna try it. Sad.

OSChamberlain Seems interesting to me. Lol 8y
CouchCrewChief @OSChamberlain Good luck! LoL. I was looking for just a Viking based novel, something fun and light and it was anything but. When I hit that I was just like, "Nope. Not at all what I wanted or expected." That's probably why I bailed so quick. Way out of left field. Maybe I read it wrong, not for me. 8y
