The best thing about this book was that I bought it at Hatchard‘s in London 4 yrs ago. 😂

James Bond #47 written by Anthony Horowitz is exactly what you would expect. This one involves a Korean businessman as a psychopath hired by Smersh and the Russians to hobble the US and win the space race. Good action, women are- well-Bond women perhaps a bit stronger and smarter but still cannot resist Bond and his charms. Great on audio- narrator is very good. 3⭐️

Horrowitz's first instalment in the James Bond cadre. Endorsed by the Fleming family. Set just after Goldfinger (Pussey Galore even puts in a cameo.) This is a typical 007 romp. Set against the glamourous back drop of a car race at Nuburgring. Its full of tension, kooky Koreans and evil Russians. All good stuff

One of the critiscism of James Bond novels is that they too far fetched. Well after finishing this book about car races and rocket launches, I turned on the TV news and President Trump is forming a space army to dominate space and is tearing children from their families and locking them up 10 to cage. If Fleming/Horrowitz had Blofeld doing that it would be laughable. The world is so upside down right now its scary😮

And as for the menu, I didn‘t even get past the swirly writing. It means they can double the prices.‘

he had a sort of magnetism that was hard to define. He was not larger, better-looking or louder than anyone else in the room but he seemed to move in a void of his own making and no matter where he stood he was at the epicentre of everything around him

I want to claim this, I really do, but as I was moaningg about not having any books for November 7th, Mr. GaD looked at me like I‘d grown a turnip on my head and just waved the quintessential 7 at me....007. 😊😊😊

Not my usual chick lit but thoroughly enjoyed this Bond....shaken not stirred 🍸

Most James Bond novels are set after the original Ian Fleming books, but Trigger Mortis by Anthony Horowitz fits between them. Picking up shortly after Goldfinger (Pussy Galore makes an appearance) and using material Fleming wrote for an unmade 007 TV series, the novel feels like classic Bond in the best possible way. It avoids the racism of Fleming's work, but sadly not the sexism. Still, a good read for fans of the original Bond novels. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Meh, it was ok.

Once I accepted that this was to feel like an Ian Fleming Bond in the vein of Connery, it really became quite an enjoyably quick-paced yarn.
