Fantastic read. My heart kept breaking. Starting with an event and then going back wards, took awhile to get used to but such an interesting approach!

Not a bad book but she spends so much time explaining how different the French are, than the Brits and Americans, that it gets to be too much.
Wow, this is one of the most honest, intense, and powerful books I have ever read. The story of how a woman from China, her daughter and granddaughter are all connected through trauma. Tessa Hulls‘ story of her family‘s history should be read often and win every award possible!
I appreciate his honesty about his history. I just got tired of his constant references to drug culture. I know that is an important part of his past but not something I‘m interested in reading about.
I‘m still processing this stunning book but what I can say… it‘s stunning, heartbreaking in many ways.
Post WWII Finland, two couples, one American and one Russian. A cross country ski race between husbands and wives becoming friends-their only common language French. And then the reality of the early cold war begins. Definitely worth a read.
Such a charming story. Makes me miss France 🇫🇷!
I have seen this since it came out and for some reason had ignored it, until yesterday. Extremely honest, sad but as time goes on Maggie finds peace. Great read.
A year to explore and learn about witchcraft. I appreciated her honesty with all she experienced. Certainly made me ponder things.
As usual Edouard Louis writes a fantastic novel. So much of it comes from his childhood of living in puberty in Northern France, trying to find his authentic self.
I love Maggie O‘Farrell‘s writing and this one is the most unusual one I‘ve read. Fascinating and unusual plot. Worth a read for sure.
I wanted to like this but it just didn‘t hook me and I got irritated at some of the masculinity that keeps getting brought up.
Masterpiece? No but a decent spy novel. Yes, there is a film and weird things about who write it.
This is one of those book…your emotions, your whole being is living with the story. On top of that, when a poet writes prose it‘s a gift. Trust me, read it!
One on the most beautiful stories I have read in ages! They say this a book for 8-12 year olds but I disagree this book is written for everyone. Hopeful, kind, courageous, it‘s a wonderful reminder of joy. 🥰
What a sad book. All about a family of internet influencers, from their young daughter‘s kidnapping, to her adulthood and their broken family. Certainly many warnings for us all.
As a life long Anglophile, this book is gold. A story of a British family from m 1945 through the pandemic. The ups and downs of 🏴 England. I loved every page.
More adventures of Mark and Janine in rural 🇫🇷 France.😍
Heather Parry can certainly write-wow. The story though😳…based on a true story, which frankly makes it even creepier. This is one dark ass, compelling read.
What a stunningly beautiful novel. Heart wrenching, but incredible. Please Alice Winn, write more novels, even if it‘s about depressing subjects like war. This certainly helped convince me, that my views of pacifism are correct. War is a terrible, worthless action that should ALWAYS be avoided.
To be honest, I was disappointed. There is potential but it‘s needs better editing. I almost bought the next two in the series, so glad I didn‘t.
Beautiful story of two families and their unique connections. The story sucks you in and keeps hold until the very last page- bravo!
Interesting and thought provoking. Good read before the new year.
What a brave and honest book. So glad I read it but sometimes my heart shattered at the pain Juno has been through. An important story and worth reading!!!
What a joy of a book! It‘s much more than just Bunny learning to use a button to “talk”. Alexis also lets us into both she and Bunny‘s lives. I appreciate her candidness and absolute love of Bunny. Worth reading!!!
This wasn‘t exactly what I thought I was getting, but certainly an interesting look at crones and Irish heritage of older women.
What an absolutely charming novel. So many messages that so many of us need to read/hear. My only complaint is that the Hyunam-Dong Bookstore doesn‘t exist because I want to visit. I hope this is the first of many novels for Hwang Bo-Reum.
Lovely memoir about a woman finding her true self. I learned so much.🥰
So I‘m not sure how I feel about this story. In some ways it feel realistic and terrifying yet what happens later, awesome dream or unrealistic fantasy. Glad I read it but…
❤️🥰❤️🥰❤️🥰❤️🥰❤️🥰❤️
Fantastic and maddening read. Nothing like a man that needs to find ways to blame women. (The book is based on some historical facts about the last woman executed for witchcraft in Scotland).
I heard the author speak on the #velshibannedbookclub and the novel seemed so relevant with the war in Israel currently. A Palestinian. man and an Israeli woman meet in NYC and fall in love. Of course, with their backgrounds, things aren‘t simple. And I never saw the ending coming😢. Great read.
An important book about Iran since the death of Jina Mahsa Amini‘s death in September of 2022. Told through art and first hand accounts. The bravery and resilience of these voices are striking. A must read!
Great advice, presented in a unique and often humorous way, uses my favorite word, fuck, often😁
The aftermath Hurricane Katrina, a young man without a family, and a spirit that tries to watch over him. What a beautiful and heart wrenching story.
Absolutely lovely. Just what I needed. A calm but moving book that ends the way I wanted it to🥰
Antarctica truly is the “vehicle” for Jenny to look back at her childhood. Such a heartbreaking childhood, with two very different yet very similar parents.
Omg this graphic novel is incredible. As a Seattleite, I learned so much history of local Jews helping Japanese families save their homes and businesses during the internment during WWII. This the the type of book, every student in the state of WA should be required to read. And it clearly shows how empathy and care can make the world a better place!
It was a long wait for this sequel but worth it! Waubgeshig Rice is a phenomenal indigenous, Canadian writer and I will forever read everything he writes.
I saw this today and had to get it. It‘s charming. We humans just never learn😢. May all the innocents stay safe.
Got this for my classroom- it‘s good. I learned some things about him. My respect has grown even more. Glad I got it.
