Don‘t get me wrong, there‘s lots to like about it but it just never hit for me. Glad I read it but don‘t think I‘d recommend it.

I love her writing and stories of strong women back in time. This time it‘s in Strasbourg in 1518. Such a joy to read.
Beautiful story written in Barbery‘s unique style. Heartbreaking yet joyful.
I went to Open Books, Poetry-Emporium today and found this gem. I couldn‘t put it down❤️
Just feeling a little too “real” right now. Not quite the Handmaid‘s Tale but not too far off.
Everything this incredible human rights is fantastic!
Love the stories in this cookbook. Now I need to step up and make some of the recipes. #ImissParis
Such a lovely book about the rooms where great writers write. Loved the info about each writer‘s specific needs in their special place📕❤️
So honest and thoughtful. We experience Amrou‘s pain yet also his enlightenment and acceptance of who he authentically is. Loved it!!!! And I really want to see his drag show now😉
This ended up being different than I anticipated. Less about the future and more about people.
I don‘t even know how to describe this beautiful story but I will say, go read it NOW. Emily St John Mandel NEVER disappoints!
I‘ve seen the movie a dozen time but never read the story. Oh my, it‘s so terrifying and so good.
I absolutely LOVE everything about this book. It has entered my short list of all times favs🥰
Disappointing to be honest. What horrible humans. Not a good read when you‘re not in a fabulous mood, actually a bad idea too, it will put you in a lousy mood.
😳lots of interesting twists and turns, family drama, and Paris…what‘s not to like😉
What a book. As a white, straight woman, that works with lgbtq kids, I always want to try to understand more. This was outstanding. So thankful he wrote it!
Amy Liptrit‘s writing is stunning. You added her joy and pain, when she feels the light and when she is struggling out of the darkness. I loved the Outun but this one is even better.
Well this was a treat. I m hoping this is the first in a series. Kept thinking how much my middle school students would like this.
I read Rachel‘s Holiday a million years ago and loved it, so thrilled when I saw she was coming back. Marian Keyes‘ writing was just what I needed. Loved it 🥰
Paris, ballet, close friends, scandalous events…what‘s not to love.
🥰💔😢😊 This truly sums up this wonderfully unique memoir. I will now read everything Lauren Elkin writes.
At one stage I wasn‘t sure why I didn‘t just let this go but thank goodness I didn‘t. It‘s beautifully written and so wonderfully, dramatically human in all our complicated messes.
I wasn‘t sure what to really expected but must say the ladies did a fantastic job. Exciting, couldn‘t put it down.
I often find books find me when I need them and this one did. I tried to savor it one chapter a night. I now need to remember these small truths everyday; to pay attention to the little things, to love freely, that the ordinary is extraordinarily and to find the good. A beautiful book to reach my goal of 100 for the year!
I‘m not even sure what to say about this novel exactly. It‘s certainly a story of a woman slowly unraveling but it‘s more than just that. Beautiful writing.
Since Anthony Bourdain‘s heartbreaking death, I‘ve stayed far away from his books, his show. I just couldn‘t bring myself to but this book changed things for me. Tom was Anthony‘s producer and director. He knew the real Tony as well as anyone could. Tom‘s memoir gives a us a peak into the real Tony and his adventures. You also feel Tom‘s heartbreak and genuine love.
Short Christmas stories in Paris with Inspector Maigret (well one of the stories). Enjoyable 🎄
So beautiful. This feels like some of Elif‘s pain from not being able to return to Turkey comes alive in this story. Such a 💔 story of humans and the hurt we cause each other. I must admit though my favorite character was the fig tree😊
Stunning! To be able to write this beautifully! It‘s a story of family, art, love an an unnamed pandemic. Sarah Hall deserves all the accolades she receives.
What a fascinating story about a father and his son (& then his son) in China. Art really does play an important role in societies. Definitely worth reading!
I‘d like to think Hemingway would have loved that the world knows this story now. How lucky to have known Papa as Hotchner did. I simply adored this memoir🥰
I can‘t remember where I heard about this book but thank you source! I loved this story because you never knew what would happen next. Fantastic characters and well written. Definitely a winner!!!
So I got the tears to finally stop. Stunning 😍. Richard Powers is a master storyteller. A father, a son, the universe and a what really matters… omg this was beautiful.
Greatly enjoyed Marie, the strong, passionate, female protagonists. An English abbey during the Middle Ages, what‘s not to like 😉
Wonderful gothic story though maddening at the treatment of women in the past. I always enjoy a book in translation, especially French ones.
This is a masterpiece of storytelling. It‘s not for everyone but it‘s worth every beautiful moment I spent reading it. I do wish I could write like Doerr.
I like Sally Rooney‘s writing and was excited about this one. It started strong, got a little bogged down but recovered beautifully by the end. Definitely worth a read.
There‘s was lots to like but it felt like a slog getting through it.
