I so loved this book! A great mystery....and it's $1.99 today!
This was such a surprising thriller. I loved the ending. It was a slow build but then much like a run away train the suspense just kept building.

"And the bulb that had burned so brightly, so briefly, popped inside her head, the filament glowing red for the briefest of moments before her mind went dark forever."
Can you think of a better way to spend New Year's Eve? Reading books with your honey while sipping champagne.
I got home last night and my order from the book depository came in!! So excited!!! I am so behind on my reading since work has gotten in the way but once I finish my current book, I have to pick the next one. No idea what one but it might be Brighton. I love the sarcastic writing of Michael Harvey and it's set in Boston!! Totally a sucker for books based in Boston!! :-)
Overall, an enjoyable read. There were some holes in the protagonist's past as well as at the end of the book. More of a sloppy editing issue, especially at the end. Loved reading about local places and streets. Picture is the Charles River. To the right of the bridge is Brighton.
I enjoyed this a lot. I was struggling with the "who done it" pretty much up until the reveal (maybe I'm slow). Very much like Dennis Lehane if you enjoy his writing.
Looking forward to my next read. No clue if there is any mention of the Red Sox. But the author is from Boston so I suspect it's a safe bet. Actually, are there any fiction books set in Boston that don't mention the Sox? Musings from a non sports oriented local.
