I originally received this book from Bookofthemonth but held off to read it for saltwater reads book club and boy am I glad I waited to read this so I could discuss it with a group of people because oh mylanta! This is a book I WILL be re-reading and for me that‘s a high compliment.

Much like a skydiver who‘s parachute doesn‘t open this book is extremely exciting until the end when you expect your shoot to open and you are sadly disappointed. I read this for @blackheartreads bookclub and was still glad I read it as it was one I needed talk out. This was full of action and a lot of plot twists that you sort of saw coming. I didn‘t care for the resolution of the story and would of liked to hear where they were after.

The coolest thing about this graphic novel is that the writers alternate between Scott Snyder and Stephen King. At first I was skeptical that I may like one‘s writing style more than the other, especially since I‘m already a huge Stephen King fan but that wasn‘t the case at all. They did a fantastic job in the writing style and the illustrations to make the story lines differ but be similar enough that it doesn‘t take you out of the story.

Have you ever read a book that you loved so much you just cannot review it because you don‘t want to spoil a single thing for anyone! But I do insist that you read this. I read this after I read Stephen King‘s Christine and I could see a lot of influences from that story. So if you have liked one you will love the other.

I really enjoyed Erica‘s storyline and was always excited to get to her chapters. The side drama that she has with her sister and her sister‘s marital strife was fantastic addition to the text but was slightly disappointed to not have a solution in this book but hoping it will be addressed in the next book in the series. This was my first book I have read from this author and was pleasantly surprised that it held up to the hype!

The book was like a paper plane, at first it soared and was exciting but in the end it just fell out of the sky. The ending was a bit anticlimactic and I wish that it would of ended a bit sooner and with more of a bang. I‘m still happy I read it.

There is a cliff hanger at the end but that‘s just a great excuse to read the rest of the series. I listened to this one on audiobook and really enjoyed the narrator. The cooky drama was fun and I really enjoyed the Christmas setting. This was my first time reading a Christmas themed book around the Christmas season and I really enjoyed it.

The first story Mail-order Bride was a quick read that had me grinning from ear to ear. This was a fun traditional-esc romance but it was also heartwarming and very well written. I could see these characters becoming regulars in a series and wouldn‘t be the least bit bored. The second story The snow bride was a similar story. I loved the kooky old gents in this and felt this was a bit more realistic.

This was a very quick read. I listened to it on audiobook and really enjoyed it. I probably finished this in a day, which is quite fast for me. It‘s the perfect holiday love story to read next to a warm fire. I thought Finn was every clueless cave man just trying to express himself with grunts and odd presents and Carrie couldn‘t be more opposite of that as her email address stated she was a girly girl but she was the ying to his yang.

Often at times this appeared to be your standard chick-lit; romance mixed with some family drama but there was another element to the story that I thoroughly enjoyed and that was the drama and suspense of Nora‘s near fatal attack and the effects it had on her life. I would love for this to become a series from the author and would devour it as I have this novel.

This is a book that I received from thebookmatchmaker last year for christmas but am just now getting around to reading. This is the second book in the series but I didn‘t have a problem starting with this one, although now I want to read the rest of the books in the series along with all of Chrissie Manby‘s books! This was a heartwarming story with lots of drama and suspense.

I listened to this on audiobook and really enjoyed the difference in narration between the two main characters; Rachel and Andy. It‘s basically a childhood love story turned adult drama. A modern day Romeo and Juliet that had me hooked from Hansel and Gretel. If you love a love story you can‘t go wrong with this book. It was a quick read and I really enjoyed the scene of 9/11 which had me balling.

I was fascinated by the first half of the book and the look at early america. I felt that she was being taken advantage of, you cannot tell me that as a nurse you bringing up your financial struggles to a wealthy elderly lady isn‘t a way of trying to get heLp. I especially enjoyed the “in talks with Huguette” segments where a relative of hers would record his phone conversations with her and you could hear on the audiobook her voice.

I personally had never heard of the great oil wealth of the Osage Indians or their subsequent murders. The persecution of the native americans is like looking at an iceberg, I feel like I‘ve only heard a small snippet and there is so much more under the surface. I love a book that points you in the direction of further topics to research and read about and this had many of those instances, I post it noted the heck out of this book!

I was very interested in her story and struggles during WWII, not so much towards the end when it was more focused on her various patients and their struggles. The book was part self help, in the beginning I had highlighted a lot of quotes for myself, part memoir.

The most interesting storyline is the one between Vasya and Morozko as they grow closer. I also enjoyed the encounters between Vasya and her niece who seems to have the same power as sight that she does. I could never get tired of this series and it seems like there could be another one in the works based on Morozko‘s inner struggle over telling Vasya some long held secret about her.

This is a picture of the October Nocturnal Reader‘s box. Short stories that are based on the supernatural. I liked about half of them. I really enjoyed the first story which was a witch story that had me smiling with all the karma being dished out. The 7th story is the one that I think should be made into a book it‘s a serial killer vampire tale. The stories I didn‘t like were the 2nd, the 6th and the 10th.

Small town ghost story turns Murder mystery. I was frightened by the descriptions of the not quite dead creatures. The noises that were described may just haunt my dreams for years. The best justice I‘ve seen however the innocent bystanders being injured or killed was frustrating but helped add to the drama. It got very suspenseful towards the end and I quite enjoyed the insanity that was induced with the visions the killer had.

This was such a great read, don‘t let the size of the book intimidate you because you will fly through this one. It‘s like if you combined the high school drama of Grease and the spooky haunting of The Excorcist! This may be my favorite Stephen King novel I‘ve read thus far! I just recently watched the movie and was disappointed! I thought the book was WAY better and the movie left out and changed so much, I‘d love to see a remake though!

I listened to this one on audiobook and it was a quick fast read. I enjoyed that the narration was both Gloria and Anderson switching off. I really enjoyed hearing about Gloria‘s life growing up in such a wealthy family and all the struggles that she endured. It‘s like listening to your grandma tell you stories of her life. A great reminder to keep in touch with your loved ones and hear all their stories before it‘s too late.

This was like Sherlock Holmes on steroids. At first it was hard to see the big picture and how the different narrators related to each other but once I began to understand their relationship I was amazed. Susan started out as a wounded little bird and by the end she was stronger than ever. This won‘t disappoint anyone who loves a good thriller.

I was stunned with the level of drama and plot twists. A literary rollercoaster from the start. If you like this book you will probably enjoy: Lies she told by Cate Holahan and The Address by Fiona Davis. 4⭐️‘s

It is completely understandable to believe a victim of severe trauma would bury the event deep in their subconscious but Liza's multiple traumas made it hard to believe she would forget them all; combined with the hormones that are being pumped into her body though I find the idea absolutely fascinating. I love a good psychological thriller and the added story in a story added depth to the story and helped reveal the killer in an unusual way.

The story alternates between these three characters stories and as you piece the story together you realize that they are intricately connected. A crushingly delicate, poetic look at how everyone is tangled in some way or another and what you may believe is not always true.

Even if haven‘t read the first 3 novels IT DOES NOT MATTER! This could easily be a standalone novel. A tense story that will have you engaged from start to end. The story revolves around a legal drama but it has moments of action, suspense and sincerity. My favorite so far in the series.

I enjoyed that it was based on a real place and often found myself googling the Dakota. Many actual residents were mentioned in the book such as John Lennon. This book is all about secrets, betrayals, love and family. The thin line we all walk of trusting those closet to us and how that line can be crossed in an instant.

This was one of the books I received in my very first nocturnalreaders box and I sadly was slightly disappointed. I thought that it would be more scary/horror but instead it was more ghost story.

I just so happened to be living in the area when these fires took place and remember seeing the news coverage on it night after night. Hesse does an amazing job of getting into the mindset of the couple and what drove them to setting the fires and their interpersonal relationship when they are both in jail and after trial. A fascinating look at the mind of two serial arsonists.

This was my first B.A. Paris novel and WOW, this did not disappoint. I found myself turning the lights on at night while I stayed up late reading this and more than once jumping sky high into the air when I heard a noise. I‘ve seen a lot of people upset by the lack of zombies but I thought that this was a great alternative world to that of the TWD. I listened to this on audiobook and really enjoyed it. It was so much more humanized and out of all zombie stories I thought that this one was a lot more true to life. I didn‘t know that there were two novellas before this. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves suspense, action or zombies/dystopian books.

However I felt like this is a book that is not good to pick up and put down a lot it's best served by longer periods of reading. The story alternates between 5 main characters which is A LOT. It was hard for me to keep track of who was who to each other.

The only reason this is getting 3 stars is because of the detective Manon and her life struggles.
