Beautiful cover and it matched the descriptions of the bayou (can I go there now, please!). I was a little disappointed in the climax and felt like the evidence didn‘t give me any hints, though. This being her first novel, I may pick up another (if she has one) to see how her writing has grown.

Pickpick

Overall I enjoyed this mystery. The setting was atmospheric and captured that small town feeling. The ending felt very rushed, though. There was a great build of the tension and budiling of clues, but everything wrapped up too quickly and a bit too conveniently in the last 50 pages.

Happy Caturday from Leia. She's making it hard to finish the last 50 pages of this book!

It's the perfect time of day to read outside. Now if only it wasn't quite so fucking hot. I'm going to hide inside and read about murder instead.

I'm really enjoying my current read so far. It has the start to a few good mysteries, and the writing flows really well. Plus I'm a sucker for mysteries set in the bayou.
