pickBook 1 of the #24in48readathon done. I read this years ago & had remembered little more than the fact that I loved it. Being a teacher, a school shooting seems at the same time to be both terrifying & unreal/far away. The layers in this are heartbreaking & yet beautiful to unpack. Coupland novels are either disturbingly hysterical or devastating - chalk this one up as devastating. Love it with all the broken pieces of my heart 💔 #24in48 @24in48

pickI finally did it! This is the first book that I've finished in MONTHS. I don't even care that it was a reread. Douglas Coupland is a Canadian treasure and I'm thoroughly looking forward to expanding my collection of his work.
Feeling a little antsy today, so I've decided to sit down with some cold drinks and a book to binge read 💕😊📚🍹
Not sure how other people interpreted this prompt, but this is the only book I could think of with “Hey” in the title. This was a good book, but if you read it, be prepared for the complete hopelessness of it. The kid who‘s hurt the most (of those left alive) from the school shooting is the one blamed by many for the events, and his whole life is tainted by this tragedy from his senior year. It‘s very sad.

pickA moving audiobook that would make a terrible movie. Coupland doesn't write women particularly well, but the narrators sure sell it.
