I have had this book certainly for more than a year. I finally got to it and really enjoyed reading about Rebus again. He is working in the cold case unit. I bought the next one and will get to it very soon! #crimebooks

Rebus is a ‘retired‘ detective working on cold cases, until he‘s alerted to a possible link with the live case of a missing 15-yr-old girl. His maverick methods don‘t go down so well with the current team.

I enjoyed this. The characters, the mystery, the music, even. I also appreciated the fact that it wasn‘t too icky. I may well go back to the beginning and read the others in order. Very glad to have picked this up for #TartanNoir #Booked2020.

2. I don‘t see why not! I probably wouldn‘t want to read the Be-Ro book from cover to cover, but most of mine have lots of stuff you wouldn‘t want to read if you were actually cooking.

For some reason I thought the series ended at 17 books, can‘t remember why. Well, lucky me, I have now several books about Rebus to read!

I knew id get chance to use a photo i posted on twitter last year on my holidays without response. We went to Edinburgh and Tighnabruaich and in ed i resumed my ian rankin readings with the rebooted rebus. Anyway john rebus's nemesis is big Ger Cafferty a truly evil villain with whom rebus is in permanent battle but like that devil on his shoulder you wonder whether there is not some respect there
