pickIncludes the first three of Roddy Doyle's novels, centering around the Rabbittes, a working- class family in Dublin, in the late 80s/early 90s. The Commitments is probably the best known of the three, but I much prefer the two later works, especially The Snapper, which involves the relationship between the family patriarch, Jimmy Sr., and his 20-year-old daughter, Sharon after she becomes pregnant.

jewright @The_Penniless_Author It was the funniest sad book I‘ve ever read. Henry is larger than life, literally and figuratively. It‘s set during the Irish Revolution. There‘s a sex scene with stamps that is burned into my memory. 😂 4y
