This was a really great thriller. I enjoyed the writing and it was very hard to put down.

The Maidens: A Novel | Alex Michaelides

I really liked their first book so I was excited to read this one. The twist was really good and I didn‘t see it coming but the main character annoyed me a lot. It‘s probably my own personal bias but the main characters grief from the start seemed unrealistic and that‘s why I rated 3 stars

Hidden Pictures: A Novel | Jason Rekulak

I finished this one earlier this week but have been really sick so hadn‘t gotten around to posting. This book was interesting I enjoyed it but what‘s really remarkable is the twist. I for real did not see that coming and wow it made the book in my opinion.

The Deep | Alma Katsu

I really enjoy Alma Katsu‘s books. She takes things that have happened that are historical mysteries and gives them supernatural reasons for why they happened in fictional fairy tales pretty much. It‘s a unique concept and I really enjoy the supernatural elements.

I am appalled that these things still happen and in an area where I have spent my whole life. It‘s despicable that people still have to go through these struggles and are able to laugh about these events and situations because they happen too often. White people need to do better.

The Girl Next Door | Jack Ketchum

Although the content was despicable, it was very well written. I knew where it was going from the first but hopes I was wrong…I was not. It made me feel many emotions such as anger, disgust, fear, hope and more disgust which was the point. Trigger warnings for just about all evils.

This was interesting. A bit confusing at first but the ending wasn‘t quite what I was expecting. Short book but really worth it. Now to watch the movie adaptation.

vivastory I know the adaptation is divisive, but I loved it 4mo
Outofcontroltbr @vivastory I just finished watching it and I really enjoyed it. 4mo

I finally got to “read” this book and I adored it. So much suspense and had plenty of twists and turns and I really liked the main character although I wish there had been a bit more on her backstory.

I liked this book even though it was pretty predictable but there were a few moments where it got my heart racing. I did not care much for the ending but it was still fun getting there.

I love these kinds of stories. Finding answers for a seemingly inexplicable event that leads to a full on investigation of who a person you thought you knew really is. All in all great story and still didn‘t end the way I thought it would.

Very interesting book and kept me guessing. Gillian Flynn had a knack for writing characters that you hate to love and love to hate. All in all kept me interested and amused.

5feet.of.fury I really liked this one too! They made it into a series on HBO, but I never finished the show 5mo
vivastory I loved the book. The HBO adaptation is one of my fave adaptations of the past few years. 5mo

I really enjoyed the concept of this book but I felt it was too short to do the story justice. There were also parts of this book that confused me since it seemed like there were some paragraphs that jumped to different scenes. I‘d like to have seen this as a longer horror novel but it was interesting.

I really enjoyed this book. There was such emotion and yet the main character was an artificial being that made no reference to their emotions and in fact seemed like they had none per se. all in all good read although the ending made me a bit unhappy.

This book was very interesting and educational. When I was a kid and had first watched the movie “the mummy” with brendan Frazier I was in love with Egypt and wanted to be an archeological explorer as well. Of course I grew out of that but this book reminded me of the wonder and beauty of ancient Egypt and I‘m so glad it did.
