Normally, This Would be Cause for Concern
Normally, This Would be Cause for Concern: Tales of Calamity and Unrelenting Awkwardness | Danielle Fishel
2 posts | 6 read | 20 to read
A warm and witty memoir by Danielle Fishel, the beloved star of the 90s sitcom Boy Meets World and the eagerly anticipated spin-off, Girl Meets World. Best known for playing Topanga Lawrence on Boy Meets World, Danielle Fishel was many a tweens first crush and the quintessential girl-next-door for seven years as she joined 10 million viewers in their living rooms every Friday from 1993 to 2000. The real Danielle is just as entertaining and down-to-earth as the character she portrayed on her hit show. But even life for a successful actress can be messy, from disastrous auditions to dating mishaps and awkward red carpet moments. Normally, This Would Be Cause for Concern is a fun romp through Danielles own imperfections and mild neuroses. Its a book for anyone who, like Danielle, has ever tripped and fallen down a flight of stairs in a room full of people, had a romantic moment with their significant other that was ruined by horrendous gas, or taken a Halloween photo without realizing there was a huge chunk of chocolate-covered strawberry in their teeth. Here is the real, imperfect Danielle, who knows that a good sense of humor and a positive attitude makes life so much more enjoyable. Even when youve just face-planted in front of Ben Affleck.

#TBT to 2014 - a much better reading year! I remember being on a YA kick. Also, Danielle Fishel's book was absolutely hilarious and I highly recommend to all fans of Boy Meets World!

Reviewsbylola 2014 was one of my worst reading years in recent memory. I had a one year old and was pregnant. For some reason pregnancy completely destroys any desire I have to read. 7y
jessberk13 @Reviewsbylola oh no!! I plan on starting to have kids in the next couple of years and I have been thinking of all the wonderful reading time I'm going to have! 7y
BoldCityBooks @jessica HAHAHA!!! Kids ruin reading time 7y
booksrockcal You have to be creative in finding time to read when you have kids. But it's possible. And if you read a lot, they will want to read too 7y

Day 28: feel-good book

I loved Boy Meets World when it used to be on TGIF. How could I not read Danielle Fishel's memoir when it came out! This actually had me laughing out loud at times. It was a great read for anyone who grew up with Cory and Topanga. And if I remember correctly, I picked this up at a used bookstore the same week it came out... For $1!!!! Those prices will ALWAYS make me feel good! 😁

Laalaleighh Do you watch girl meets world? 8y
jessberk13 @Laalaleighh believe it or not, my boyfriend loves it, so I do watch it by default! I often wonder if the original was as cheesy! 8y
jessberk13 @Laalaleighh let me be clear: my 33 year old boyfriend, lol 8y

Laalaleighh Haha that's fantastic! The original one was the best thing ever. Could never be cheesy! 8y
[DELETED] 2232195534 My daughter loved Boy Meets World. We saw them filming one time at Disney World. Daughter was mega-excited. She's 34 now. I should remind her of that. 😂😂 8y
kay89 Do you listen to literary disco? Ryder talks about books with Tod and Julia. It's great and he doesn't shy away from talking about his past. One episode had a special guest-will friedle! 8y
Kitty_Rochsmith I took this as a chance to spy on the other books on your shelf!! 📚 8y
[DELETED] 4184155464 Yay! Love BMW and like GMW. I've been looking for this book since it came out. Never was able to get my hands on it. I still have her first book she wrote that came out during the last season or two of the show. I'm well past the age range now (I'm 28) but I can't get rid of it. 😄 8y
MeganAnn I never knew she came out with this book! I'm going to have to read it now if I can find it... Loved Boy Meets World growing up and now I watched Girl Meets World with my son which we both liked. ❤️ 8y
ThatBookishGal Oh I'm glad u like it!! I've had my eye on it for awhile. 8y
Carol I also grew up with her on TGIF. I haven't seen GMW but Corey's mom from BMW was in an episode of Adam Ruins Everything I saw last night (random). I loved Danielle on The Dish & was so sad when they were cancelled. But that allowed her to make GMW so I guess all you fans, you're welcome! 😁 8y
MissCarrieLou @Carol I was going to mention The Dish! I miss that show so much. 8y
