This book would be best for older children do to the grim nature of the story but the cut paper illustrations are gorgeous.
1997 Caldecott Award Winning Book published in 1996. Golem by David Wisniewski is a retelling of a traditional Jewish legend about a rabbi who brings life to a clay giant to people protect his people. The story is a little grim to read with small children. The cut paper illustrations are truly a work of art.
What a beautiful and informative book set in Prague, Czech Republic in the year 1580. I don't know much about Cabala, the mystic branch of the Hebrew religion, but I'd like to learn more. #ReadingEurope @Librarybelle @BarbaraBB
