I remember, distinctly, learning the word “amulet” as kid, encountering it for the first time in Bruce Coville‘s “The Unicorn Chronicles.” I know if I‘d stumbled upon this book as a child, I‘d be just as thrilled to encounter it here.
A Walk in Wolf Wood is no Thornyhold (another magical tale by Stewart — for adults) but I imagine 80‘s kids were totally charmed by it. 🐺🌚

monalyisha This time around, I kept track of points for the #ScarathlonWordSearch. While it definitely helped to up my score & it worked for this particular book, I might not use the tactic again; it was a little distracting/took me out of the story. I imagine it‘d be easier if reading on a Kindle, etc. Tally: 84 before word search points; plus *91 (!!!)* more word search points equals 175 points in total! 😱 (edited) 2y
