I read this as an e-book from the library. It was over 5000 pages long. I mainly just skimmed it, but I still had to renew it twice to get through it. I wanted to read it because I was curious to find out what Plato's ideal society was. It seems to include a whole lot of eugenics.

I went to my Amazon wish list to get a picture of this book that I #WantAsAGift and it was gone! My partner's reaction when I said my list was broken leads me to believe that Amazon deletes purchased items from the wish lists, and that I am indeed getting the J. M. Cooper edition for Xmas! The cover isn't much to look at but this is the book I would bring to a desert island. Along with a survival guide of course. #12DaysOfXmasPhoto

[DELETED] 3517561138 If it is ordered from the same account that the wish list was created on the item will disappear when purchased. If someone else ordered it from your wish list, say a mother in law etc, it will not disappear from the wish list. I know from experience! :) 8y
Leniverse @LibrarianRyan @Prairiehomelibrarian Hm. I mailed him the wish list. He might have ended up on my account when he clicked the link. We're both logged in. But you still have to put in the password to make purchases. He acted totally busted when I asked him though. I... guess I shouldn't investigate too deeply. 😆 8y

In a way #ilovebigbooks, but I'm not gonna lie, every time I start new one I'm a little afraid! It's like climbing a mountain. I think some of my proudest personal moments may be finishing those books like Atlas Shrugged (not pictured) and Infinite Jest. Ulysses (third from the top) is next up.
