I'm Just Sayin'!: Three Deaths, Seven Husbands, and a Clone! My Life on Guiding Light and Beyond
I'm Just Sayin'!: Three Deaths, Seven Husbands, and a Clone! My Life on Guiding Light and Beyond | Kim Zimmer
1 post | 1 read | 1 to read
As the notorious Reva Shayne on the daytime television drama "Guiding Light, " Kim Zimmer portrayed a vixen, a manic-depressive, an Amish woman, a time traveler, a Civil War belle, a talk show host, a cancer survivor, a loving mother, and a devoted wife. In her more than two decades on the show, she earned eleven Daytime Emmy nominations and four wins, not to mention a legion of loving fans. Now, in this heartfelt memoir, Zimmer delves into her experiences as a daytime diva. Packed with on- and off-set photographs and behind-the-scenes information, blatantly honest and wildly indiscreet, "I m Just Sayin " tells all in an insightful journey through the parallel lives of Reva Shayne and Kim Zimmer and the true stories behind the longest-running drama in television and radio history."

As much as I love heroes & heroines, they aren't nearly as interesting without the perfect villain. There are many wonderful villains out there (Moriarty and Umbrage are fantastic), but my #favevillain come Guiding Light. I loved that soap opera back in the 80s & 90s. I love Reva Shayne, but Annie Dutton (portrayed by Cynthia Watros) was abfab! A villain you love to hate is among the greatest pleasures of books, movies, and yes, even soap operas.

megt Guiding Light! I remember watching that off and on when I was growing up (at times probably way too young for some of the storylines). Annie was a great villain. 8y
bookishbunny OMG! This was my show! I miss it. I remember Annie. She was a great villain. I would put Roger Thorpe down as one, too. 8y
LitHousewife @megt It was such a good soap! In college, my friend and I scheduled classes around it. We called it Reva. 🙂 8y
LitHousewife @bookishbunny Oh, yes! Roger Thorpe was a great villain, too. 8y
megt I love that you scheduled classes around it! I remember getting hooked on the crazy Marian (aka Brent) storyline. Reading about it now, I realize that SO MUCH of it went over my 9 year old head, but Marian was kooky and creepy and I was sort of fascinated by what went into a character like that. 8y
