🏴☠️ This nonfiction book tells of William Dampier, a naturalist who went around the world 3 times. It is shocking he is not more well known considering he discovered and named so many things. It‘s an easy read because it‘s so fascinating.

pickCan't believe I finished this on Talk Like a Pirate Day 😂 This lively, well-written biography chronicled the adventures of an original buccaneer who also lived as a gentleman naturalist and contributed knowledge of hydrography and biology that still gets used. Dampier never made much money as a pirate or scientist, but every time you ride an ocean current or watch the tides, Dampier sails on.
