Wife Read it years ago and I remember that I really liked it. Can‘t remember anything about it though. I loaned my copy and never got it back. Learned my lesson and don‘t lend ā€keeperā€¯ books anymore. š¹ 6y

Vertabrain Read it a hundred years ago and I liked it, but remember cringing through many of the scenes. Duvall is a truly sinister villain. I love coming of age stories, so Benji‘s character was my favorite. I was much younger then, so I wonder if I would have a different impression now? Hmm.. 6y

staci.reads I read it years ago and didn't like it. It has been so long, I couldn't even tell you why. I just remember being seriously disappointed, and since it was my first Oprah book club experience, I was leery of her picks after that. 6y

Kaye I read it long ago and really liked it. Quirky characters and story. It‘s written strangely, so it takes some getting used to in the beginning. You‘re dropped into this town and each set of characters tell a little piece of what‘s going on in each of their lives, then it all starts to come together, but it‘s a bit confusing at first. Well worth the read. 6y
