I've never been able to finish The Heart is Deceitful Above All Things, and I struggled with Sarah, but I just saw this doc about JT LeRoy/Laura Albert and wow! Its nutsy and fascinating.

Just saw the film AUTHOR: The JT LeRoy story. This author "hoax" is still unbelievably fascinating to me all these years later. What do you think? Is Laura Albert a criminal and fraud, an artist, all of the above?

tkmadden @Well-ReadNeck the book itself isn't the JT LeRoy story, it's just one of the books "JT LeRoy" became famous for writing. Read the wiki and articles surrounding the scandal - endlessly fascinating ! 8y
