The Snow Goose | Paul Gallico

I am a lover of history and this book didn't disappoint. So beautifully written I felt like the words were singing poetry to me! When I saw Fritha standing on her tiptoes, raising her hands toward the sky, I cried. Loved the illustrations!

More of a short story than a book, this is a clear, heartfelt, sentimental tale of a friendship between a disabled man, a young girl, and a goose.

Beautiful writing, and a fitting introduction for old and young about the evacuation of Dunkirk during World War II.

Strangely, this author also wrote the script for The Poseidon Adventure.
