Decluttering is all the rage, but what do you do when your preferred style of interior decor is miles of overstuffed bookshelves? If you can't bring yourself to KonMari your collection, SHELF RESPECT will validate your life choices. The perfect gift for the book lover in your life: a celebration of the humble but oh-so-wonderful bookshelf. Do you alphabetise your books or organise by genre... or (heaven forbid) colour? Have you merged your collection with your other half's? (And do you write your name inside the cover, just in case?) Do you keep all the books you've read, or only the most cherished? (Is there such a thing as too many books?) Are you a Billy aficionado, or are we talking library ladders and bespoke Oak shelves? Bound to provoke (good-natured) debate between Bibliophiles, SHELF RESPECT is a charmingly illustrated book in defence of towering TBR piles and overflowing shelves... no matter how you choose to organise them.

I finally broke my #bookbuyban for 2022, it‘s been an awful year already so far, my birthday was a bust with us being sick, so I thought bugger it. 12 books later…They range from Crime to SciFi to Fantasy & Historical. With 3 signed copies! The hubby is going to South Australia for almost two weeks to see his 93yr old Nanna so it‘s a perfect time to tempt my reading brain with some new reads. Fingers crossed it gets it moving again🤞🤞🤞

TrishB Always a good thing to try! 2y

Mehso-so

This is more of a stocking filler for the bibliophile in your life who you don't know very well, I'd say. It's not very in depth, just a collection of observations, lists and quotes about reading. There's a weird tendency to believe that people who love books are morally superior, and parts of this book indulge jokingly in that. All a bit hyperbolic and for a particular sort of reader for whom “being a reader“ is an identity.

Okay, I am entertained by the fact that Bloomberg have/had a Billy Bookcase Index, demonstrating exchange rate fluctuations in real terms by comparing the prices of IKEA bookcases.

All of ours are Billys, as you can probably see! Iconic. We actually made my dad the gingerbread flatpack furniture as a silly Christmas gift, and obviously picked a Billy!

Here is the absolute STACK of books my wife got me (with help from the last of my February book budget) for the UK #WorldBookDay -- which is apparently a different date to everyone else? A nice display of my random taste in books, I think.

Shelf Respect is very titbit-size and not terribly worth the buy so far. Not really insights, just "I love books, you love books, aren't we clever?"

Pst, #BunniesofLitsy, Hulk's showing off her smarts!

There is no power on earth that‘s going to convince me that storing your books spine side in is anything less than insanity!

Soubhiville Agreed- it‘s ridiculous. 4y
